Is it time for JD to stake his claim as the next President ?

Historically, VPs have ascended to run for President, not SoS. Can you name a famous modern President who was SoS? There are very few in any era, and absolutely none in the modern era.
In modern era no, but certainly it’s possible

We have had a lot thought out history though, thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, John Q Adams, Martin van Buren,James Buchanan….many have also ran for the office

It’s certainly possible for one to become president

James Buchanan was President 160 years ago.

Nixon was Ike's VP. GHWB was Reagan's VP. Biden was Obama's VP. They all got elected or stole the election.

Look at all the VPs that ran and lost. Mondale was Carter's VP. Gore was Clinton's VP. Kamala was Biden's VP.

No SoS in any of those names, were there?
