Yes. He's supposed to sit there and take it. He lost. End of story. He was supposed to peacefully transfer power as the person that received less votes, and is thus a single term *pResident.

He didn't think he lost.

Power did transfer, nothing done on Jan 6th changed anything.

And your use of the "pResident" bullshit shows you are just as much of a denier as any republican, but since your doddering fool one this time, you turn a blind eye.

You are worse than a hack, you are a lying twat of a hack.

FOAD.

An ATTEMPTED coup

It can't even be attempted if there was no real mechanism for it to succeed.

Again the Trump administration was still in office for another two weeks.

Opposing Authoritarian Ideological Fundamentalism.
Given Cipollone's resistance to the more egregious escapades upon the sinking manure barge, I'm sure he will be cut some slack.
I'm still not convinced that the barge is sinking. This is the American political equivalent of a Mafia family. So far, the inner circle is intact.

Could this hurt Trump politically? Yeah, but it really doesn't matter. This cancer has metastasized so far and wide that he's become less relevant with time.

This is precisely why the fake citizen outrage that Trump generated with his “Big Lie,” and the crude theatrics of Jan. 6th, was so dangerous.

As sitting President still, Trump figured he only needed to generate enough doubt and anarchy and pressure so his own Vice President would deny validation to the legitimate winning slate of electors in several key states. (He also tried to get his supporters to submit completely fake alternative electoral slates from a few states to get this result.)

The “mechanism for it [the coup] to succeed” was clear. The plan was that the “winner” — after the Electoral College was declared (by his V.P.) as unable to make a decision — would instead be decided (as the Constitution specifies) by a special vote of the House of Representatives. Of course Trump and his team of grifters figured (probably correctly) that there Republicans had the numbers to “constitutionally” complete Trump’s “auto golpe.”

This sort of thing has been done many times in South and Central American “banana republics.”

You are correct. The retrogressive authoritarians will persist in their benighted ways, but evangelicals and the McConnell types got what they wanted out of the repulsive lowlife, and seem eager to find an excuse to unload the noisome baggage.

His grievance jamborees featuring paranoidal self-pity, xenophobia, and petty vendettas will endure, of course.

He didn't think he lost.

He would have to have been batshit crazy to think he didn't lose.

Every claim of fraud was debunked.

Every court case of fraud was lost.

Every investigation into fraud had findings ranging from none to a couple of isolated cases.

Every hand recount confirmed the original tabulation.

His own staff either informed him he lost or helped him to cheat in a failed effort to flip the election.

Personally, I believe he knew he lost but maintained the Big Lie to fleece his cult out of hundreds of millions of dollars. Lying g is very profitable for him.

Power did transfer, nothing done on Jan 6th changed anything.

Not for lack of trying.

He knows he lost, but he can't handle the truth that so many Republicans kept telling him.

He prepared for his inevitable loss by laying the groundwork for his fantasy of a stolen "Landslide!" long before he lost.

The reason he did that was because he knows his weird worshipers are batshit crazy.

The U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol is establishing the official record of the attempt to pervert democracy via dozens of Republican officeholders and Trump insiders testifying under oath. As a consequence of what has been exposed, most Americans agree that the Loser is culpable and should be charged.

It is entirely reasonable for all the Trump intimates concerning whom Cassidy Hutchinson testified under oath to also testify under oath regarding their recollections of all the events and their statements and behaviors that she recounted.

Let Meadows, Cipollone, Ornato, etc. also provide detailed, sworn accounts, rather than Ms Hutchinson being targeted for the usual vilification, petty vendettas, and threats.

It's a political witch hunt. Anyone that gives ANY credibility to it is a fool, or a partisan zealot.

If you like to pretend that the long list of conservative Republican witnesses, many trump regime insiders, who testified under oath before the U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol are witch hunters, your conceit is not entirely inapt.

The conservative Washington Examiner's editorial board said Hutchinson's testimony “ought to ring the death knell” for Trump's political career. “Trump is unfit to be anywhere near power ever again.”

The conservative New York Post blasted the headline: “Tyrant Trump." And the conservative editorial page of the Wall Street Journal wrote, “Just when it seems as if Donald Trump’s behavior after his 2020 loss couldn’t possibly look worse, a new piece of wild testimony arrives.”

Pass the ketchup.

How does the holding of people without trial or bail look to you? How do you feel about the practice of political prisoners becoming normal in our country? How does that look to you?

Diversion? Talking about the abuses of the Biden administration in relation to the 1/6 riot, is off topic in a thread about the jan 6th riot?
What are you accusing the President of doing on January 6?

I'm not accusing him of doing anything. I'm unhappy with the violation of the civil rights of the accused rioters.

Please cite all the complaints by those arrested that have been adjudicated, and the verdicts in such litigations.

Of course Correll is “unhappy” about the supposed violation of the “civil rights” of the rioters who attacked police viciously and invaded the Capitol Jan. 6. They were flying Trump flags, MAGA flags and Confederate flags and trying to stop the peaceful transition to a new democratically elected President! Just his sort of people and banners!

They are entitled to trials and lawyers, and they are getting them.

Otherwise, fuck them and the Orange horse they rode in on!

Why? I mean you do support it, right. I mean a denial of it occurring, is just a troll delaying tactic.

You fully support the oppression of your enemies.

Is that not correct?

Oh, you've paid no attention to the massive violations of human rights that Biden is presiding over?

I guess that is credible. After all they are your enemies.

Who besides Denney?
