Issues on which I disagree with the right

This can be the start of debate, or just a bit of disclaimer for me.

I'm libertarian. As I predicted in the introductions thread, I seem to be disagreeing with progressives/leftists on here and thus may appear to some of you to be right-wing. So, here's where I'm not right-wing:

Pretty much any right-wing belief that opposes liberty or equality of opportunity, or that favors government involvement in areas in which the government should butt out.

So - even though I wish there were far fewer abortions, or even no abortions - I don't favor banning them.

I don't favor prayers in public schools, because I think the 1A does not allow government officials to establish a religion in a tax-funded institution.

As a libertarian, I'd like to see government get out of the business of licensing marriage, but if they do license marriage, it should be available to all sexes, all perceived genders and in any number - barring under-age marriage. Libertarianism is for adults.

I don't favor the war on drugs.

I don't favor the wars in the middle-east.

I don't favor going to war to protect Taiwan.

The MIC has been wagging the dog far to long, IMHO.
Big on generalized platittudes but short on specifics. You're more progressive than libertarian.

Let's cut to the chase.

Who did you vote for in the last election?
Jorgensen.

But, I knew my vote was wasted.

Gun to my head, I have to* choose between Trump and Biden, I'd choose Trump, if that's the question behind the question.

*And with government, how often it is "gun to your head, you have too . . . "

Then you're pretty much a fraud. You didn't choose Trump.

The political system is binary, and the challenge for anyone who believes in liberty, as you imply yourself to be, is to choose from a. or b.

The Founders, classical liberals, conservatives
a. individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.
“free markets, free voices, free people”

,
Fascists, Nazis, Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, Communists, Democrats
b. the collective, command and control regulation of private industry, and overarching government that can order every aspect of the private citizen's life....right down to control of his thoughts and speech.

Instead you are simply one more complaining loser-terian.

For you, maybe, not for me.

Opinions vary . . .

So many points of disagreement I dont know where to start

I support freedom for taiwan which is also a defense of all free countries as china tries to gobble up the world one step at a time
How many American lives and American dollars should we spend to fight the Chinese over Taiwan?

Let's check: when was the last time a loser-terian won the presidency?
Never. Too many sheep allow themselves to be owned by the Twoparties.

I'm not going to abandon my beliefs just so I can paint my face blue or red during October and then pretend that "my" party won in November.

Serious question: What political goal of yours has either of the two parties met recently?

Same here. But I don't accept the claim that my vote was wasted. As far as I'm concerned, voting dishonestly (eg voting for the lesser-of-two-evils when you know there's a better candidate on the ballot) is worse than wasteful. It's fraudulent. Arguably treasonous.

LoL!

I came onto a political forum and announced that I think both parties are wrong. That sounds like a person who can't face "contumely?"

The challenge for the adult, the serious American voter, is decide what is important, politically, and then choose which of the only two important parties......the only two who can win a national election.....is closest to that determination.

Your choice is the equivalent of voting 'present.'

As many as it takes. Taiwan cannot withstand takeover by the Chi-coms without a significant loss of life. They should not be forced to endure that.

I come from a family with one member who was in armored cavalry, and one currently a paratrooper.

It frightens me, but I have to agree with you.

America is the bulwark against chaos and evil, and we are are facing a powerful enemy internationally, and a fifth column at home.

I recommend....

I haven't read any of your posts other than the present anti-libertarian rant, so I'm not sure which party you're saying met your goals?

As I said, gun to my head, I would have voted for Trump. He did a better job in his four years of advancing the interests of the American people that Biden has.

But said gun is not to my head just yet, so I vote for who I please.

EDIT: I just saw your sig. Fine, if you are an Ann Coulter reader, we probably agree on more than we disagree. If Trump had kept his promise to build the wall, I would have probably held my nose and voted for the rest of him. But if I want to be led by people who lie to my face and expect full loyalty, I'll flip a coin between Dems and Reps.

And that is my point.

Sentient adults don't vote for persons, we vote for policies......and you can see that graphically in the cartoons I posted.

You should have simply voted for Trump, never mind the Libertarian nonsense.
