Actually the question by Messiah Yeshua - Jesus hints that His full teaching may have been somewhat different than the near absolute pacifism that so many of his followers decided on.

"And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace." [Mark 3:4}

This question seems to be referring partly to the situation faced by the Machabees when they were attacked on the Sabbaths by Greco - Syrian armies. One village decided to observe the Sabbath in a dogmatic and simplistic manner and were massacred and their pretty daughters would of course have been taken as slaves.

The Machabees decided to fight back if attacked on the Sabbath and they basically saved the Jewish nation from the Greco - Syrian Empire.


Book of Machabees 1, chapter two :

" And it was told to the king's men, and to the army that was in Jerusalem in the city of David, that certain men who had broken the king's commandment, were gone away into the secret places in the wilderness, and that many were gone after them. 32 And forthwith they went out towards them, and made war against them on the sabbath day, 33 And they said to them: Do you still resist? come forth, and do according to the edict of king Antiochus, and you shall live. 34 And they said: We will not come forth, neither will we obey the king's edict, to profane the sabbath day. 35 And they made haste to give them battle.

I believe that that question posed by Messiah Yeshua - Jesus to the Jews of his time period hinted that he supported the Machabees in their decision to fight back if attacked on the Sabbath. This is relevant to all Messianic Jews or Christians who are in the police or army and of course would also be relevant to any Israeli who turns to Messiah Yeshua - Jesus as Messiah the Passover Lamb.

Let's see what John 3:16 says. It says clears throat "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whomsoever shall believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."



Hmmm... I'm not seeing anything about attending a specific church to have everlasting life so I don't think that a specific one is required.

We all have doctrine that differs. It is in worship that doctrine is set aside. No one goes to their place of worship to worship doctrine. God is never false, and we are his temple, his dwelling place.

The Way Believers Object Shows They Have No Case

You're stuck on the conviction that Jesus's mission was exactly what those who tried to get power through their association with him preached that it was. But objectively, he could have been a number of different characters completely unlike the way he was presented by his cronies. His apostles exploited people who desperately needed a powerful divinity to make them feel he would protect them.

Imagine what people think who first hear this story. Those who know about the Roman Empire would believe he was its pacifying agent at a time when the Jewish people were angry, violent, and threatening its rule.

This political situated existed long before Emperor Constantine. Throwing that name in shows you can only defend your faith with ridiculous or ignorant non-sequiturs.

"Live Free or Die" Would Have Stopped All That

Sabbath or not, there is never an excuse for Jewish cowardice during the Holocaust, and also during all the previous persecutions. The first time set a bad example, and that was what Jesus did preach. The only people who would have benefited if he had converted most of the Jews were the Romans.

Notice that the books of Maccabees were rejected by the early Roman Catholic Church.

The others are false, but I don't think that keeps their practitioners out of Heaven. It just gives them fewer tools to get there.

Oddly enough, no church denomination existed among that first generation of Christians. None. Yet the church existed.

No denomination is the true church.

You don't have denominations when everyone believes the same. Denomination is defined as a branch. The reason we have denominations is because 500+years ago, a few selfish but persuasive men wanted to live by their own less stringent rules and not the defined ones of the Catholic Church. In every instance, that was the case.
