A white male with 42 years of experience, including being Vice President.
So where was the problem the Democrats had. Since the 22nd Amendment kept them from having third terms, nearly every Vice-President has been the presumptive heir apparent.
Nixon, Humphry, Mondale, Bush, Gore, Biden and Harris. The only ones who didn't make a play for it were Rockefeller (who was never elected),Quayle (who was pretty much a national punchline), and Cheney (who was rightfully blamed for the Iraq War). I fully expect Vance to go up for the nomination in 2028.
Really, it would have been impossible to deny the nomination to Harris once Biden dropped out.
But the Democrats would have been far better served if that had been the result of a nomination process with Biden standing down after the 2022 midterms. (When he could have gone out on a high note.)
Now, it does beg the question, is America too misogynistic to have a woman president? No one sane could argue that Trump was more qualified or more suited either time he ran against a woman.
I've seen Harris and Hillary called "bitch", "Whore", "slut", and that word we aren't allowed to use on USMB. So, I would say, yes, misogyny was a factor.
