Many say we should be willing to fight for Taiwan a lot of others say no......not worth it.

"When a man knows he is about to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully," said Dr. Samuel Johnson.

If there is any benefit to be realized from the collision between China and the U.S. over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan, it is this: America needs to reflect long and hard upon what it is we will fight China to defend in the Taiwan Strait and South China Sea.

Seems like the recent increase in tension between East and West is just for show. Both nations, China and the US, stand to lose hundreds of billions of trade dollars the moment war kicks off. Walmart for instance is a major distributor of Chinese made products to tens and tens of millions of Americans. Would China really risk losing that kind of endless trade revenue over Taiwanese independence? Who will buy their megatons of cheap plastic trinkets if they can no longer sell to American chain stores? Further, is "ownership" of Taiwan worth being on the receiving end of US nuclear tipped missiles?

It's worth resisting China for.......

So all of you who want to go fight China.....by all means ...go and fight China!

Leave American young people alone!

The issue between China and Taiwan is a Chinese people problem they need to resolve themselves.
People don't realize that 50% of Taiwan's economic trade is with mainland China, and almost half of the Taiwanese citizens want to reunite with China.
America is the one stirring up the hostility and needs to just butt out.

Well the thing is, when you as a country really show strength and resolve, those fights DONT happen. Its during times of indecisiveness and weakness that countries like China think they can make a move. We never should have gotten to this point. If they always believed that we would kick their ass and they always believed that we had a population who believed in freedom being supported around the world, but especially with our allies..... I dont think they would be acting as they are now. This is why they have bided their time over decades and waited until our society has somewhat dissolved as it has and we are now busy with internal conflicts (which they support).
That is the one thing about Trump these leftist progressives should at least realize. He came off as unpredictable and maybe as a president who might do anything to defend America's interests.. he was a bit scary to our enemies, therefore they were never going to really step out of line. Biden and his controllers on the other hand are very predictable. If they do react it will always be too little and too late, and countries like China and Russia unfortunately think they can count on that. THAT might actually get us into some war.
liberal/ progressives are fucking idiots and will end up creating more misery on the face of the earth in the long run. sadly.

You can provide a link to support that comment about the people of Taiwan wanting to rejoin China, right?

Did they vote on it? Do they want the much lower standard of living they'd have?

America is the one stirring up the hostility

Pelosi landing there is "stirring up the hostility"?

In my personal opinion it wasn’t smart of Pelosi to do what she did with knowing they overreaction China Government can have.

Let remember Covid came from China and I will never underestimate China Government resolve to do whatever it must to take the U.S. down including using biological warfare, but with that written if the people of Taiwan choice is to be free of China tyranny then we ( U.S. ) must do what we must to ensure them the chance to have that freedom.

If you constantly tip-toe around them.....they'll think they deserve to control our actions.

I get your point but we must always know that China Government is more ruthless than us and will play the End Game.

Understand the Dragon is a paper Tiger when it come to ability to fight us on the battlefield but do not underestimate their resources or how far their power reaches and remember they have been messing in Mexico, Central and South America for decades and they could make our border very unsafe while unleashing another biological weapon on us…

No.

It's not worth American lives....American blood ....NO NO NO
If we let China take over their semiconductor production they will be the dominant world power for the next hundred years. All of our industries are dependent on Taiwan’s semiconductors.

Pelosi was sent there to piss off the Chinese to green light their invasion of Taiwan. Just like Kamala was sent to Europe to invite Ukraine into NATO which they knew would make the Russians invade Ukraine.

Xiden’s goal is to usher in the CCP as the world’s dominant superpower, while destroying our economy and military and making us into a third world country.

That it would or should cost US lives is an asinine assertion. We do not need a war with China to compete and influence them.

And are you really okay with china producing vital, important and REQUIRED components for 100 percent of every military asset that we have (let alone the VAST majority of technological products you use yourself on a daily basis).

Do you understand that is EXACTLY what would happen if China takes over Taiwan?
