I am mostly an outside observer to such matters I have observed that military personnel of whatever rank are afforded a much more effective defense and respect of their Constitutional rights than most workers at a large corporate campus who are required to "own" homes on 30-year-plus mortgages, and nice cars on lease or long-term loans, to keep up professional appearances.

Many of us have been so abused year after year by the civilian law enforcement community that we would welcome some transition to a martial law, for the purge of bad cops that will inevitably have to take place to redress the wrongs they have committed and continue to commit against us.
