Iran lays mines in Strait of Hormuz

Sounds like you're projecting your shame at being an American onto foreigners.

I suggest you pick a better country and move there pronto, which is Spanish for forthwith.

Already did that, have not been a resident of the US for a number of year.

Just an infrequent visitor to see family and friends

China, India, Japan and South Korea are the major importers of oil that passes through the Straits of Hormuz, The U.S. receives much less that in the past. It won't affect US that much. That being said, Trump said the straits will not be closed for long and that the U.S. Navy would keep the shipping lane open. He also said China and Japan should help as they depend far more on oil passing through those straits.

You are either sadly misinformed or have a raging case of TDS, probably both.
I know you kids really don't understand how the world works so I'm just gonna say "global market" and then let you continue to be ignorant.

Attacking people's oil, the most immoral that anyone can be.... killing children would be fine. But don't touch the oil.

It's not "people's oil." Roughly 90% of Iran's oil in 2026 gets exported to China, that's 1.6 million barrels of crude per day and worth roughly $32.5 billion per year. And all of it is transported by tankers.

Does anyone really think Iran is going to screw themselves by making the Strait of Hormuz impassible? And if they do mine the Straight of Hormuz while leaving a corridor for the "shadow fleet" that transports their oil, it would be very easy for satellite images and other methods to map that route.

We (U.S.) just took out 16 mine laying boats.

I posted earlier that Iran's mine-laying capacity is asymmetrical. They don't have any dedicated ships, they use small boats. That means any boat showing up off the coast of Iran should be targeted. I'm sure our Navy is watching that, seeing how they've already sank 16 of them.

We dont care if we hit schools with little kids? We were targeting an IRGC barracks, ( the Iranian equivalent to the nazi SS). Unfortnatly since we are now doing this.... the IRGC needs to be hit and decimated if possible. The people of IRAN would love to rise up against them but until now they have not had a chance.

Targeting something, and how much care did they put into it?

And the "people of Iran"... how many people?

Maybe they want change, but don't want the US to put in a puppet of Trump's choosing.

Maybe they want change because heavy US sanctions over the years have made things difficult for them. So they blame the govt, but the US is massively responsible.

The people of Iran don't get to choose their own leaders. Their Supreme Leader is chosen by the
Assembly of Experts, an 88-member body of clerics, and is strongly influenced by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Ayatollah they just put in there was also a former IRGC member. So until the IRGC is completely eliminated, Iran will never have a free election.
