Obama merely kicked the can down the road till he was out of officeObama negotiated a strong agreement, Trump is the one that threw it out. And seriously, WTF does the second amendment have to do with this? Yes, Iran has strict gun control laws. But, I checked some online prices, of course paid in crypto, no paperwork required.
Glock 17 pistol for 280 million rials ($340)
Makarov for 240 million ($290)
Turkish-made Colt .45 for 360 million ($440).
Kalashnikov for 1.7 billion rials ($2,070)
OKIt should be easy, Iran go to open and fair elections and end the theological government, the strait of Hormuz must remain open at all times and no tolls, no financial reparations , a guarantee to not pursue nuclear anything, and the US government has oversight until the UN steps up to the plate and ensures free and open elections. That they do not fund, train or support any terrorist organizations including Hamas.
Then there can be peace.
Obama had a verifiable agreement to abandon their nuclear developmentObama merely kicked the can down the road till he was out of office
Not abandonObama had a verifiable agreement to abandon their nuclear development
Trump tore it up
I dont think the jihadi regime will accept itOK
That is Trumps position
Why would Iran accept that?
Then we hold the line until they do. Because if we don’t hold them to this, Iran will continue to be the largest threat to the Middle East as they have been since the Carter Administration.OK
That is Trumps position
Why would Iran accept that?
Trump went in without the approval of Congress,
We don’t put military conflict decisions to a plebiscite. And our allies don’t determine for us what we need to do.the American People or our allies
Of course we have a way out.Now he has no way out
Did that "blockade" involve bombing over 20,000 targets?? Only a fool would dispute the FACT of a war going on.Currently its not a War. Its a blockade.
Hopefully, the ***** slapping continues.
In the mean time Iran is financially screwed. I hear they are using Barter now
Trump made a decision that hurt the American people and our alliesWhich, of course, is not a requirement.

Do you ever bother with being even being marginally honest?
Toxic Democrats vs Toxic Republicans. In other words ... the Demons vs the Devils. Which will be the "lesser of two evils" this November? Place your bets folks. Brace yourselves for "more of the same."Yep, but the alternative to Republicans are the toxic democrats, should be close.
Well, that’s one view. But it’s unsupported other than being your own ignorant and baseless opinion.Trump made a decision that hurt the American people and our allies
So what? During a war (like say on D-Day) or before one is initiated, no effective leader would ever discuss these matters publicly. What purpose would be served by tipping off the enemy ahead of time? All without asking for their input
Let's see in a few days.
Greg
No. First of all, the USA have been directly proliferating nuclear weapons by their program of "nuclear sharing" (however useless in military sense). Second - by illegal and unprovoked attacks on non-nuclear states, the USA force other non-nuclear states seeks the opportunity to deter the USA. And the only thing that can deter the USA is nuclear weapons. The US is firmly opposed to the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
"Strong agreenent" a temporary hold on genocidal regime's nukes?Obama negotiated a strong agreement, Trump is the one that threw it out. Wow, just "wow"."Strong agreenent" a temporary hold on genocidal regime's nukes?
How do we define that the demands are met? I mean come on, you can't trust this administration. Last year, they said Iran's capability to enrich uranium was eliminated. If they say their demands are met, how do we trust them? The U.S should maintain the blockade until all demands are met, or, there is ample opportunity to replace the Iranian regime.
That is how this has to play out now. The Iranian government, surely encouraged by their Chinese and Russian Big Brothers overplayed their hand.
If they would not have held the Strait hostage Trump may have pulled out and accepted victory. Now he and his advisors realized "we cannot allow them this type of control so let's return the favour and give them what they want, a full blockade".
During this time other nations will find alternative sources. New routes will be created, Irans oil business will dissipate and China will lose its influence. China must now dip into their reserves and hope for an early end to this. The U.S can hold the line for six more months until the rare internally in Iran spirals perhaps out of control and the leaders are replaced, citizens can then vote in democracy and eliminate their former overlord radicals.
I am not energized today so I will not explain in detail. How do we define that the demands are met? I mean come on, you can't trust this administration. Last year, they said Iran's capability to enrich uranium was eliminated. If they say their demands are met, how do we trust them?
And the Strait? Damn, Iran never even thought to commercialize control of the Strait until Trump pulled this shit. Hell, he gave that to them. And no, he can't keep it open. The US Navy can't keep it open. I mean for the love of God, was there no intelligent person in the room before this happened.
I mean this is how stupid this is. I have seen claims that Iran has no capacity to store oil and must shutdown production. No, Iran can store production for at least another six months. Saudi Arabia, they are already cutting production. China, they are laughing their ass off. They have three times the crude oil reserves of the United States, and damn, now they get to buy both Iranian oil and Saudi oil in their own currency.
And damn, think about this. Iran supplies 20% of China's crude. They could easily replace that with oil from Russia without going through the Straits of Hormuz. They have seven months worth of reserves to replace Iran's oil until they find alternative sources. I thought the goal of the US was to limit Russia's ability to sell oil, now we are giving them customers on a silver platter.
I mean the level of ignorance this whole fiasco reveals is stunning. We pissed away half our Tomahawk missiles, probably more than half of our air-to-air missiles. And just to make it clear, it will take years to replace the inventory we let loose in a couple of months. Our navy sucks, we have literally no mine sweepers because we got rid of them. I mean check this out.

Even an amateur can see, we ain't in a good place.

Again, contrast the two, please focus on the red per ship class. Then there is the Air Force. Half our damn planes are not mission ready. HALF. That is absolutely unacceptable in any circumstances and especially if initiating a war of choice. The reality is, now we have initiated a war with a third rate power that has placed in the most vulnerable position this country has ever been. We cannot defend air superiority in two theaters. Honestly, an administration that puts us in this position is incompetent at least, and treasonous at worse.
Attack? Are we talking ground troops? Yeah, talk about doubling down on stupid.I am not energized today so I will not explain in detail.
I stand by this position, maintain the blockade and it will work. If not, we will see when it is time to shift course. The U.S does not even need to go to war, just block the Strait, and/or attack once Iran is weakened much further.
