Iran demands to end the war

Trump went in with the wrongheaded notion that an air war alone would result in regime change.
Yea Bibi pitched that to Biden, Trump 1.0 and Obama. All of them said you're dreaming. They don't have the guns. Trump 2.0 bought it hook line and sinker. He said "okay fine let's do it, what do I have to lose".

He also didn't see Hormuz? Then perhaps Trump and his team aren't qualified to be running our country. They've fired anyone who's not loyal. Loyalty over brains ask Kash Patel or Pete Hegseth or JD Vance. Lindsay, Rubio, Noem, etc.

And Bibi has dirt on Trump. Jeffrey Epstein was an Israeli spy. Who do you think he was working for Hezbolla?

Trump is lazy
He wants results without doing the legwork

Germany thought they could bomb Britain into surrender
The U.S. thought we could bomb Vietnam into surrender

Doesn’t work

Come on guys. Bush and Chaney wanted a long war so Haloburton could clean up. Chaney's company.

Blockade is war. We declared war on Britain for it. MAGAs never read a book.
The unprovoked killing of 241 of our soldiers in their barracks in 1983 was Iran declaring war on us. We finally have a President with the courage to do what should have been done 43 years ago. No different than Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

There you go admitting you support nuclear proliferation and allowing the ayatollahs to target US cities with nuclear weapons rather than pay a little more for gas for a little while.
Horseshit. Again, they are no where close to even developing fissionable material suitable for a damn nuclear bomb. "With further enrichment", as if enriching uranium to 96% is something like mixing a protein shake in a shaker bottle.

To be as close as Trump claimed to having a conventional nuclear weapon, Iran would have needed to secure and enrich that gas to 90 percent in centrifuges, extract and chemically separate it back to solid uranium, shape it into spheres of uranium metal (a task that is “not simple,” Rofer says) and then construct explosive devices around them.

So, when Trump claimed we had destroyed Iran's enrichment capabilities last year he was lying? I doubt Iran has the capability to enrich to 90%, I know they can't separate the material back to a solid, and no way in hell they are close to a trigger. And we haven't even discussed their ability to put a nuclear bomb on a missile capable of striking the US.

It was the right thing to do and long overdo

Obama and biden should have stepped up to the plate but failed to do so

Regime change is the only sure fix to the shia wacko threat

But Iran has no 2nd Amendment so the ordinary people have no guns

Which means it will take time for the blockade to drive the mullahs away to their foreign villas
Obama negotiated a strong agreement, Trump is the one that threw it out. And seriously, WTF does the second amendment have to do with this? Yes, Iran has strict gun control laws. But, I checked some online prices, of course paid in crypto, no paperwork required.

Glock 17 pistol for 280 million rials ($340)
Makarov for 240 million ($290)
Turkish-made Colt .45 for 360 million ($440).
Kalashnikov for 1.7 billion rials ($2,070)

You seem to be arguing that the US should wait until Iran is close to being able to build nuclear warheads to fit on long range missile that can reach US cities before taking action to end their nuclear weapons program but that just doesn't seem prudent. For one thing allowing Iran to continue its quest for nuclear weapons weakens the US's nonproliferation policy and for another it gives the US less time to prevent Iran from acquiring nukes.

Before the US destroyed Iran's enrichment sites last June, Iran was one week from being able to produce enough fissionable material to build one bomb and only three months away from being able to produce enough weapons grade uranium for 19 bombs.

AI Overview

Prior to the large-scale military strikes in 2025 and 2026, analysts estimated that Iran could further enrich its 60% uranium stockpile to 90% (weapons-grade) for its first nuclear weapon in roughly one week. If Iran still possessed all its functional enrichment sites today, producing enough material for a second or third device would take approximately one to two additional weeks each.

Breakout Timeline (Pre-2025 Damage)
The transition from 60% to 90% enrichment is technically the shortest phase of the process, as 99% of the required separative work (SWU) has already been performed.

  • First Nuclear Device: ~7 to 10 days.
  • Entire 60% Stockpile (Enough for ~10–11 bombs): Roughly 3 weeks.
  • Longer-term Production: With its full pre-war capacity, including thousands of IR-6 centrifuges, Iran could have produced enough weapons-grade material for 19 weapons within three months.

Strategic Factors
  • Separative Work: While reaching 60% requires roughly 5,000 SWU, finishing the process to 90% requires only an additional 500 to 564 SWU.
  • Centrifuge Capacity: Facilities at Fordow and Natanz utilized advanced IR-6 centrifuges, which are significantly faster than older models.
  • Current Status (April 2026): Military operations in June 2025 and February 2026 targeted these sites specifically to destroy this capability. Although the 60% uranium stockpile largely survived—often buried "under the rubble" or in deep tunnel complexes—the loss of functional centrifuges and power infrastructure has rendered the theoretical "one-week" breakout window currently obsolete.

Time for you to say, "Thank you, President Trump, for preventing the ayatollahs from targeting my home with a nuclear warhead."

But things that have been destroyed can sometimes be rebuilt, and the US saw activity around the destroyed site that indicated Iran was either trying to rebuild them or to salvage things that would allow them to build other sites, and the US made the determination that the ayatollahs were still trying to acquire nuclear weapons and that further military action was necessary to prevent them from succeeding, so on Feb 28, the US and its ally, Israel, launched the current action to prevent the ayatollahs from targeting your home with a nuclear warhead.

Time for you to thank President Trump again for preventing the ayatollahs from targeting your home with a nuclear warhead.

While it's true that the ayatollahs would still be at least a year away from being able to build a nuclear warhead that could fit on a ballistic missile and survive the flight to the US and perhaps even more time to produce such a missile, there is no advantage to allowing that threat to become imminent. In the absence of a verifiable agreement that ayatollahs will end all enrichment and get rid of all elements of its enrichment program and end its production of offensive missiles, it is prudent to prevent the ayatollahs from rebuilding anything that has been destroyed.

The problem is, that by illegal and unprovoked aggression against non-nuclear states you're just destroying NPT. More aggressions you commit - more nations believe that they do need nukes to deter you. You don't like idea of nuclear Iran? What about nuclear Japan, nuclear Germany, nuclear Brazil and nuclear Mexico?
The US is firmly opposed to the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

  • Strait of Hormuz Control: Iran seeks recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, including the right to impose tolls on ships.
  • Financial Reparations: Iran is demanding compensation for damages and war losses, often described as reparations.

Seems that in spite of our Presidents claims that we are close to an agreement with Iran to end hostilities, we are not even close.

Trump has started a war that he doesn’t know how to get out of

It should be easy, Iran go to open and fair elections and end the theological government, the strait of Hormuz must remain open at all times and no tolls, no financial reparations , a guarantee to not pursue nuclear anything, and the US government has oversight until the UN steps up to the plate and ensures free and open elections. That they do not fund, train or support any terrorist organizations including Hamas.

Then there can be peace.
