Installed capacity of solar exceeding coal in China

The flap yap reply that all the idiot denialists use. No, we cannot do that, and the switch to renewables will be gradual, as the ever increasing demand of the data centers will force us to use all the generation we have. But the economics of renewables versus gas, nuclear, coal, and oil will decide the issue in the favor of renewables.
Nuclear fossil fuels and LNG have unlimited capacity while green energy will never meet demand. Its already been decided. In America subsides have stopped for green energy and Nuclear is being supported. Renewable energy is all but dead here.

Now you show that damaged solar farm. But the mounting for the panels in mostly unharmed. And the electrical connections are still there. The panels themselves are not the primary cost in a big utility scale farm. Most of the infrastructure is unharmed, so that farm can be put back into service in a couple of months. And when they are built for storms, they survive well;

Solar

Utility-scale solar farms in Florida have demonstrated remarkable resilience during hurricanes. For instance, during Hurricane Helene, Florida Power & Light's solar farms were virtually unscathed, helping nearly a million customers avoid power outages. Less than 0.05% of the nearly 16 million solar panels across 66 sites were damaged—none significantly. This resilience is attributed to the robust structures and safety measures in place, as well as the design improvements made to solar farms to withstand severe weather events.
The Invading Sea+2
In another instance, Duke Energy's solar farm experienced an EF-2 tornado during Hurricane Milton, shredding a swath of solar modules while leaving most of the facility intact. The facility was not hit by the hurricane's core winds but rather a rare EF2 tornado in the storm's outer bands. Amazingly, the solar farm resumed power generation just four days after the storm.

These examples highlight the effectiveness of solar farms in Florida as a reliable energy source during hurricanes, providing power and stability even in the face of extreme weather conditions.

/----/ Storms are unpredictable, and after being hit a few times, the cost of reconstruction drives up the cost of electricity, rendering the savings moot.

Solar with battery storage is the most expensive and manufacturing batteries pollutes with toxic wastes. They have to be replaced every 10 years as their capacity declines with age. They also cant support a long outage of surge as they will run out of power quickly. Nations with the most green energy have the highest costs and most shortages. In fact Green energy is destroying manufacturing in Europe. Its unreliable cost the most and will wreck the economy.
Fossil fuels nuclear and LNG are the way to prosperity and low cost reliable energy. Thats the direction America is going and manufacturing is coming here from Europe the low cost reliable energy.
Green energy cant meet the demand for AI and server data banks it cant even come close.
While much of what you posted was true in 2020, this is 2026. And we have batteries that last much longer, some that can produce power for days, and the cost has plummeted to the point that solar with storage is the least costly form of generation now. Now you can find the proof of every statement I made on the net, so I am not going to babysit you intellectually.

LOL Nuclear takes as much as a decade, sometimes more, to build. LNG will get more and more expensive as the ongoing war in the middle east drives up the price. And LNG generators are also facing supply problems with the turbines that are needed for it. In the meantime, there are many very large solar projects in construction right now in the US;

Well let's see, nothing affecting the price of natural gas at present, right? Oops, a little item concerning Trump's war with Iran. And even with occasional reconstruction the price of solar and wind does not even approach the cost of the very expensive nuclear power. Of course, solar and wind distribute profits, whereas nuclear concentrates those profits. And the Epstein class very much likes nuclear power.

Gee Whizzaroo, I did not realize Trump was a nuclear engineer. Did he design the one that Finland is currently testing, also?

Finland's

Finland's modular nuclear station, specifically the LDR-50 small modular reactor, is a significant step towards achieving carbon neutrality goals. The pilot plant, located in the turbine hall of the Salmisaari B coal power plant, will serve as a full-scale model of the reactor design. Unlike the actual power plant, the pilot unit will use electric elements to produce heat inside the reactor capsule, not nuclear fuel. This pilot project aims to test operational features and establish necessary supply chains for actual plants, with a focus on producing heat for district heating networks. The project is part of Finland's strategic efforts to become a superpower of clean energy and is expected to be the first instance of physically testing a reactor module at full scale before actual construction. The pilot plant is being built with a budget of EUR15-20 million, funded by capital investments already raised by Steady Energy.

Ever drive a Whippet? How about a Hudson? Or a Kaiser? There are still plenty of solar companies in business, and there will be even more when we say goodbye to the present kakistocracy. Solar panel, and storage battery prices continue to come down, while the cost of building nuclear plants and NG plants continue to increase. No matter how much you Luddites weep and moan, solar and wind will continue to be the preferred new source of generation simply based on economics.

/---/ During Hurricane Sandy, we lost power, but our stove was NG and we could cook. Nuke power requires no wind or sunshine. There's a place for all power sources, but solar and wind are not one size fits all.

Solar eats up huge areas of farmland.

You cannot run a grid on solar, not even on wind. You still need caseload from coal, nuclear, NG for that.

Why else is Chin building so many coal-fired power plants? They know.

And batteries add another layer of cost for consumers and have limited output.

That is installed capacity, not actual generation. However, what is even more significant is that the increase in solar has put China ahead of demand. It is noted that they are still building coal plants that will obviously be not needed for present need. However, I think China is regarding these as security, in case they get into a protracted non-nuclear war with the US.

China depends on coal they know solar cant meet demand and never will
