First off, President Trump did that by using Dr. Fauci and Dr, Birx as spokesmen and advisors. However, Democrat Governor's like Cuomo, Newsom, Murphy etc., fought him on every move resulting in New York, California, New Jersey and other Blue States like Michigan with the highest rates of contamination and virus deaths....
Remember when Cuomo was falsely pleading for respirators when he was hoarding 4,000 in a warehouse, while contaminating nursing homes filled with the elderly causing their deaths by order.

Blue states insisted on tough measures and got through the worst of it.
