JCPOA gave them billions to fund terrorism in the ME. They were also enriching uranium under JCPOA to levels far higher than what is needed for power. Why?
The Strait was open and it will be again. Iran will be much poorer with much less bargaining power when this is over.
Oh brother. Obama gave Iran Iran's money, it was the completion of an agreement made by RONALD REAGAN, and Obama negotiated down to about thirty cents on the dollar.
As to enriching uranium, HEU is used in medicine and agricultural research. The people of Iran have every right to that technology and under the JCPOA they were being supplied that HEU. Trump cut that off, what was Iran supposed to do, let their citizens die from lack of access to medical testing.
What you Trump nuts don't get, Iran was not in violation of the JCPOA. They actually shipped out tons of UF6, and yes, we were supplying them with HEU for their medical use and agricultural research. Yes, they always refused unlimited access to military facilities, but most of their facilities were under constant, CONSTANT, monitoring through CCTV, just like North Korea before Bush screwed the pooch.
But as to Iran and their power, they are in a much better position now than before the war started. Those crazy religious fundamentalists have a firm grip on power, and you better hope they can keep the military in line. They can control the Strait, they didn't know they could before, now they do.
And we have shot our proverbial load. I mean it is bad, really, really bad. Worse than anyone will say. We cannot, at the moment, maintain air superiority over two fronts. And not to be mean, but that damn parade should have been a wake up call. And now the Administration wants a trillion dollar defense budget? I mean this has been a total shit show. Aircraft carriers literally swimming in shit. Antiquated submarines with no replacements anywhere on the horizon. No real mine sweepers. Half, damn half, of the Air Force fleet is NOT battle ready. WTF?
NO, we need a deal. There is no choice. At this point, we got to lick our wounds and sheepishly find our way back home. Then, we have to make a decision. Do we want to continue to be the world's policeman? I mean what is in it for us? Maybe it is time for the Trump administration, for our government, to walk the walk instead of talk the talk. Yes, make America first. The people first.
And that is just it. Real leadership, true leadership, involves putting the people first. A real leader doesn't throw people under the bus, he flipping stands in front of that damn bus and dares it to pass by. We are pretty well positioned, but we have some real problems to deal with. Ship building capacity probably first and foremost, and get that damn air-to-air missile inventory built back up.
We can't do that and have military operations in 40 11 countries. Time to withdraw in our shell.
