It is as astonishing as it is horrific that so many "people" defend and even promote the sedition witnessed January sixth. Is it not clear that this has to be the work of foreign agents? Are we in doubt about those posts that try to justify (or even diminish) the horror?
Anyone who has a rational thing to say in defense of this offense, try it out here where vilification and personal attack are out of place. It would be interesting to see and refute.

These are people who have been been filled with a rage and paranoia by their insulated media for decades now. All it took to set them off was the right spark, and that spark showed up in the person of Donald Trump.

Voting for him was an expression of that rage and paranoia, and then he fueled it daily and ultimately animated it on the 6th. All to save himself.

I disagree with those who blame this entirely on Trump. He was just the match that lit it. He identified and took advantage of something that was already there. Right wing media is what created it in the first place.

Attacking the most important functioning of the U.S. and its Constitution transcends mere political bickering. Fortunately, this particular case was inflicted upon us by a bunch of morons with no capacity for effective organization. It could have been much worse, but it was already far, far more than too much. Any further support for it is truly aid and comfort to the enemies of not only America, but democracy itself and all our fellow republics.

Well, you could say the same about this presidency. In a way, it was a wakeup call that we have to guard against this kind of thing. You could even say were dodged a bullet -- a more skilled and intelligent President/crowd could have caused much more damage. So now, our eyes are open.

There definitely could be more damage to come now, the domestic terrorists probably aren't done, but hopefully we'll be better aware for the future.

If you are trying to say that the last four years could have been worse if the President had been, yes, we dodged a bullet. In that regard, it could be maintained that we are lucky that the damage in the invasion was not physically worse. I would say, however, that the magnitude of the symbolic damage is far more than commonly acknowledged and perhaps the actual damage should have been greater so that this would be clear even to the thickest skulls.

I would certainly hope that this capital riot was not seen with favor anymore than the BLM/antifa riots were. Destroyed/damaged property, financial cost to the taxpayer, humiliating exposure of the darker side of humanity, not to mention dead bodies are NOT the way to promote the more positive side of humanity for sure.

Yeah, the symbolism is profound, even though the actual damage was relatively small, and people are reacting to it worldwide. Our reputation is in bad shape.

On the bright side, we saw our mistake and corrected it as quickly as we could. This would have been MUCH worse if we had re-elected him.

Time will tell. Trump should never have been President. Rational people would never have elected him. The poor candidates that were presented against him gave him his edge. It is not clear, however, that someone so lacking in courage as to engage America in pre-emptive war and illegal invasion out of fear for his political career is a guarantee of better things. The duopoly serves itself, not the people, and that is at least as serious as the Capitol invasion.

Just the other day a woman in her 70s noticed my MAGA hat and asked what i thought about the demonstration against the Tyranny of this Congress, and she said she was scared of it. I then quoted the man below. Followed with Stand firm, and Stay United. This is just the beginning...

Jefferson's quote is irrelevant to this situation. Using it for justification is to misunderstand Jefferson and the event. It is not the government who was and is frightened of these "people". The genuine, American people lament the wound democracy received and fear a future living with such seditionists in their midst.

but who is promoting that fear 4eyeM?

look at it this way, many protests are shut down because it crosses the line to violence

but we know that those 'first punches' may in fact be done by the very elements looking to have them taken down

This all has nothing to do with "many protests", either. I was in Washington with a million others to protest Vietnam, but attacking the Constitution was in no one's mind. Demonstrations that end in violence and destruction are wrong and stupid. Invading Constitutional processes of Congress in session is sedition. That fact is what promotes fear. That fear is further promoted by those who refuse to see it.

Who else sees the hand of America's enemies in all this sedition support?

where did sedition happen??

you honestly dont think they intended on over throwing the government with a few hotheads and a buffalo man??

cause that would take a special kind of stupid to think that,,

Sedition happened before our very eyes and there is no denying it. What we saw is the very definition of the term. The courts will act accordingly and hopefully with maximum penalties so that it is clear in the future this is not taken lightly.
