I'm About to Get My First Colonoscopy At 35 Years Old

Oh and I forgot to mention that I'm in EST so my appointment is 10:00 AM on December 8th EST.

I wasn't going to tell you guys this until it started getting serious and final but now I have an appointment to see the doctor on December 8th at 10:00 AM.

Go see that doctor. I'm pretty sure they will examine you that day. If they put you on a diet and tell you to take a Fleets enema 24 hours before, you can be sure.

You will be fine. Some have reactions to the medicine and get nauseous when they come out of it, but recover quickly.

Actually your Dr will probably put you on a liquid diet for a few days prior to procedure in order to clean you out. There are several conditions that could be causing your discomfort, not just cancer. My 26yo son has ulcerative colitis that comes & goes and during a flareup his symptoms are similar to what you've said. In his case, he is now having problems again after a 2 year lapse and is now on a strict bland, no fiber, low sugar type diet. Not an easy thing to deal with at the holidays

I haven't heard anything about the prep before my appointment so I'm guessing that it's just to talk to the doctor first about my symptoms.

Doctor office staff are asses, especially since covid. Don't be surprised if they don't tell you until right before or forget to tell you. If I were you, I'd CALL the doctor's office and ASK them if there will be any special preparation you need to do before the appointment.

I just don't see any point in going if the guy is just going to ask you questions; they could do that over the phone.

Okay I'll double check but the woman I spoke with over the phone sounded pretty friendly.

Also what's really throwing me for a loop is that I have been having frequent urination as well and I haven't heard that as being a symptom of colon cancer.

She is going for a consult, not the procedure. I have done this numerous times.

Yep, I just double checked about it but I'm pretty sure that the colonoscopy is going to be scheduled afterwards. I'm just really confused and curious about this frequent urination thing and what that could be possibly caused by.

I'm guessing that the colonoscopy won't be the same day. I've struggled with constipation in the past but it's all been minor. I can't say I'm completely constipated, I just have trouble emptying myself completely and now I'm getting bloody stools. I apologize as I know that it's gross, but just in case the results come back that I have colon cancer (I think that I would be feeling much worse if it was) I just wanted to prepare you guys for it because a lot of you on here I care about as much as I can with online friends. I'll keep you posted and prayers are appreciated. 🙏
Prayers for you

Sometimes a bloody stool can be caused by diet... You're young ...you're not vaccinated right?

Wow so young, hard to believe it could be cancer. I hope it is negative.
