If You Want Change, Win An Election

obama's whole problem is that republicans won elections and created the tea party caucus.

BTW if anyone would like to have a Constitutional Amendment for non gerrymandered districts, I would happily join with you in support no matter what party you belong to. I think it's ridiculous.

I'm in. My district was re-drawn and now I'm in the district that voted for that criminal Jesse Jackson Jr. in 2012 when it was clear just how corrupt he was.

Republicans did win elections the House in 2010 which they keep in 2012 when Clinton got hammered in his midterms he understood he was not going to always get his way and was willing to comprise something Obama has not been able to learn or willing to do.

If we had a proportional representative system what you posted would matter, however we vote to the house via districts, and the any votes over the 1st vote past winning are thus wasted inside the distrcit.

The proportional shift you describe is most likey due to high overvotes in urban safe democratic districts, that often see no real challenger, with a 80-90%-10% vote tally.

You can't take the ugly out of some people

And Obama is about as ugly as you can get

you people put this man on us...you should shamed

We did win elections. That's why we have control of the House of Representatives. Because we won more federal elections than Democrats did.

Which is funny because there were more aggregated Democratic votes for Democrats then Republican votes for Republicans.

Be that as it may, your folks control little over 1/2 of one house of Congress, and use that control to squash dissent in the house..or any minority opposition.

Give that behavior, do you believe that the majority in the Senate and the President should act any differently? (And in the Senate, they do, the Minority still have the filibuster)

High overvotes?

What does that even mean?

Obama to GOP: 'Win an election' to change policies

You still aren't aware that the GOP is the majority party in the house, are you? Of course you are, this is a lie. You knew perfectly well when W was President and Democrats ran the House that he wasn't dictator and the House didn't have to do his bidding.

It has nothing to do with elections, it has to do with a liberal media carrying the water for you. You do it because you can. It worked, you got your way. But stop the lies.

seems like the only meaningful elections are those the republicans win.

Both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton lost the House in the first mid-term of their Administrations. Clinton responded by moving to the center and working with the GOP. The result was a balanced budget and a thriving economy. Obama responded by not moving to the center at all and not working with the GOP House. The result has been political gridlock and a stagnant economy.

That isn't partisan hyperbole...that's a simple statement of fact. The reason that this country is mired in the mess we're in...is that the Democrats chose to ignore the mid-term elections of 2010 and do business like they still had super majorities in the House and Senate. I'm sorry, L.K. but Clinton played it correctly...and Obama did not.
that could be because Clinton was a much better leader and knew how to deal with those who did not agree with him......just sayin....

WOW! This guy is the President? Must be about the dumbest person on earth. Way to go libs. You elected this moron. He does realize how these people got into office right? Scary how low of a standard we have set to be President of this country.

Obama see's his base will cheer this type of thuggish behavior from him...so he just goes around being a thug

he's a disgusting little man...Just because he won doesn't mean he can RUN over the people who didn't vote for his ugly ass

If we had 10 representatives in a body, and each represented 100 people, and 2 each from the same party. 6 winning reps are from the same party (A) and won, 4 are from the the other party (B), and won. so say those 6 reps won 51-49 each, and the 4 from party B won 80-20. So party A controls the body, with a total vote of 386, and Party B is in the minority with 614 votes. It may seem unfair, but the system is setup to represent districts, not people, and thus even though in some areas Party B beat thier opponent by a considerable margin, the excess votes do nothing with regards to control of the body.

Now if they had proportional representation, it would be 6-4 the OTHER way, rounding up to 4 for party A, and then down to 6 for party B, based on the total value of all the votes.

you left out the part where Dems got more votes. The GOP'ers held on because of redistricting

Republicans Win Congress as Democrats Get Most Votes - Bloomberg
A majority of Americans disapprove of the Republicans in Congress, yet the odds remain in the party’s favor that it will retain control of the House. One big reason the Republicans have this edge: their district boundaries are drawn so carefully that the only votes that often matter come from fellow Republicans.

You left out where 30 states have Republican governors and 24 have Republican legislatures.

We won the House twice. In 2010 and 2012.

How stupid is he to throw out such a meaningless line like that? He needs a better script writer.

But did you win the Senate and POTUS? No you didn't so you don't get to hold the gov't hostage if you don't get your way.

It's called checks and balances. It's in the constitution. You'd think that the "smartest president evah" who is supposedly a constitutional lawyer and professor would know that little factoid.

You do realize that "representatives" represent a segment of people within a given state and that the people in those individual states elect their representative.......don't you? Total number of votes by a political party are irrelevant to the election of an individual representative. I thought you guys were the smart ones with enlightenment, logic, math and science???

Is that the soundbyte for the day? You guys keep repeating that "We got more votes" as if it changes the fact that we won more elections.

And your excuse for the Senate is "You guys do it too"?

I thought we were grown up.

No, no, no.......no!!! He's the "smartest president evah"!!!
