On other boards I've seen it said that gay marriages would somehow damage hetero marriages. Anyone here understand how that works? It was always stated, but never explained. I'm confused. It doesn't seem to be effecting mine at all.

The opinions differs based on ones own moral values and religious ties. Those who are religious will see that gay marriage undermines the traditional definition of marriage and thus intrudes on religious freedom. Those who are non or semi-religious feel that gay marriage is acceptable. That gay people should be allowed to get married.
