If Democrats want to continue losing, they will continue listening to Republicans telling them what they should do.

A) We can't afford Medicare For All
We certainly can....raise taxes on the rich.

and B) all that happens when you raise Minimum Wage is that everyone's wages increase to keep pace which negates the raises.
No. You're not going to have inflation because millions of working class Americans finally have a living wage.

Oh, and businesses automate entry level positions which affects the unskilled labor pool eliminating the jobs that they need to support themselves and their families. You want to see what happens when you raise Minimum Wage? Look at the places that have done it! You'll see that the REAL Minimum Wage is zero...which is what someone makes when their job has been eliminated!
Your solution seems to be more of the same.....lots of poor people in red states and blue states with high poverty rates.

That's not an answer, either.

You are literally clueless when it comes to Economics! Here's the way it works in the "real world" when you raise the Minimum Wage. Let's use your typical restaurant as our example. Your $20 an hour wage for a kid starting out as a dishwasher in the kitchen means that you have to give a raise to the prep cook that got promoted to his position from dishwasher. He was making $3 more an hour than the dishwasher so that means to keep him happy you're going to have to pay him $23 an hour. The line cook that used to make $4 an hour more than the prep cook is now going to need to make $27 an hour. The Sous Chef that made $5 an hour more than the line cook is now going to want a raise as well. You're going to have to pay him $32 an hour. The Executive Chef that made $10 an hour more than their Sous Chef is going to demand $42 an hour.
So you've got this tidal wave of wage increases which increases the labor cost of the restaurant dramatically which means the restaurant either needs to increase the price of it's menu items...or figure out a way to run with fewer people and lay off staff. So your two outcomes are either inflation...or unemployment. That's a scenario that would be playing out across all businesses. So who wins? Not the minimum wage employee. The best case for them is they get a bigger paycheck but that increase is eaten up by increased costs of goods and services...the worst case for them is their job gets eliminated and they make ZERO which is in reality what the true Minimum Wage has always been and will always be!

We certainly can....raise taxes on the rich.

As for Medicare for all? That's estimated to cost 30 Trillion dollars over six years...which means the Government would be spending 60% more than it currently is spending...which means in order to pay for that we would have to triple payroll taxes and double all other taxes. Good luck selling that to the American people, Doc! (eye roll)

In terms of economic policy, it's insane for the Democratic Party not to move to the left.

Just one time, the Democrats should try a full court press pushing for Medicare For All and a $20.00 per hour minimum wage. But the Democratic Party's rich donors don't support these policies, and therein lies the problem.

If the Democrats listed to Bernie Sanders about this stuff, then Trump would probably be making season 25 of the Apprentice right now on the Fox Business channel.
The one word I think about when it comes to the Dems is "clarity". Even when you're running against a lame duck (hopefully) President, you're running against the people who support and enable him. And so in this case, the Dems are running against a sloppy, messy hurricane of chaos, instability, and the destruction of our fundamental institutions and critical relationships.

So I'd think that clarity would be at the core of how they would run. Maybe that's the plan, maybe that will start happening at some point, but I sure don't see anything like that yet.

This talking point is strange because it sounds like it's implying we're not going to spend that much money on health care already.

Of course we're not. You're putting people who didn't have healthcare before or were paying out of pocket on a plan where the Government pays for everything. That means more people getting more treatments. Let's be honest here...either the quality of care goes way down...or we're going to be spending huge amounts of money on this!

You know, Mac...you make these wild claims about a "hurricane of chaos" and the "destruction of our fundamental institutions" and at some point the public says to themselves...Trump is doing what he said he was going to do when he campaigned! It's not chaos. It's what the voters wanted and it's actually rather well planned. Getting rid of Government waste is something that everyone knows has to happen. We're too far in debt not to get our house in order. So are you going to run against that? The border has been secured. Are you going to run on opening it up again? Violent illegals are being deported. Are you going to run on bringing them back? Trump's working on cease fires in Ukraine and Gaza. Are you going to run on continuing war? He's lowering the cost of energy and that's going to mean lower gas and heating oil costs. Are you going to run on raising gas prices? Are you going to run on allowing men who declare themselves to be female to dominate women's sports? Teaching about sex and gender to little kids? Excluding parents from a minor's confusion over their sexuality?

You talk about "clarity"? I've got news for you...you're on the wrong side of most of these issues. Why you think "clarity" is the problem, escapes me! It's not. Your AGENDA is the problem!

If you don't see chaos, I'm not surprised.

And tell me: You say I'm "on the wrong side of most of these issues."

What issues are those, exactly?

He listed 8 issues in the post you replied to. CLearly as limited examples, not a comprehensive list.

That you would ask for examples instead of addressing the ones he already gave, is extremely disingenuous, and insulting.

What we are seeing here after the last election are white Democrats talking like right-wing nutjobs. They're repeating right-wing talking points about what Democrats need to do. Bernie Sanders is one of them. Republicans have used identity politics since at least the Civil Rights Act. But for some reason when Republicans whine and pretend to be poor, innocent, and oppressed, the media repeats it and follow that false narrative. In this video we will see Berne Sanders repeating right wing talking points and he gets busted by Roland Martin. The claim that the Democratic Party has done nothing for the working class is a lie. Nobody went too woke. Its all a lie, and if any Democrat continues with this, they should get voted out. America needs to face its race problem and do so now. If Democrats want to continue losing, they will continue listening to Republicans telling them what they should do.

You are a brain washed, delusional rube.:auiqs.jpg:

Ah...the ones I just listed? Duh?

I've been seeing that... a fair amount from lefties. YOu make a point, you provide a supporting argument,

and they will demand something, you already gave.

I've had lefties demand a point be supported, then immediately after that, move into the supporting argument of a post and argue against it.

They seem to think that the "gotcha" moment of demanding a supporting argument, is scoring a point.

They've... I think it is a growth of their embrace of the idea that as long as they maintain the FORM of a supporting argument, or debate, that that is good, and it doesn't matter if the content of their argument is complete nonsense or completely false.

Okay, Correll pointed out that you provided examples in that wall-of-words paragraph and were referring to them. Against my better judgement, I will provide you with a comprehensive answer.

Ready?

Getting rid of government waste == I've said many times that I'm all for it

Secure border == I've said many times I'm all for it, and blamed the Dems for the mess they left

Violent illegals deported == I'm all for it

Cease fires in Ukraine and Gaza == I'm all for it

Lower energy costs == I'm all for it

Biological men in female sports == I'm against it

Teaching sex & gender to little kids == I'm against it

Excluding parents from a minor's confusion == I'm against it

Now, here's the part you're not going to understand, and I suspect that because NO Trumpster has understood it so far:

First, there is a bigger picture here, than all of that: And that is who we are as a country, who we are as a society and whether we want a singular authoritarian leader using threats, intimidation, aggressive ignorance, corporatism, non-stop conspiracy theories, personal insults, mockery, juvenile name-calling, rampant dishonesty and blatant corruption to represent us and move us along.

Second, have you ever heard of the term "there's more than one way to skin a cat"? I'm strongly against THE WAY Trump & Co are approaching the issues, and I list his/their behaviors and tactics in the previous paragraph. The tariff fiasco has been a shining example of that. And, from my sig: My disagreement may not be about what you're trying to accomplish. It may just be about the way you're trying to accomplish it.

There. A comprehensive answer for you. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Just look at what we pay for private insurance, employers get to decide what health insurance you can have, look at all the paperwork and time spent on billing, claims, collections….

Other countries afford it

'Tis tres amusing that you think democrats are talking about being like Republicans. The face of the democrat party is now AOC and her ilk, you can't brush that away.

Democrats lost because they put up the worst candidate they could find and pretended to support her. Have you come to terms yet with the reality that millions of democrats who came out to vote for the old white guy refused to vote for the Indian woman?

So let me see if I understand you...
You accuse me of subjecting you to a "wall of words"? It was as long as it was because the list of things that you on the left are totally out of touch on is rather long.
Then you turn around and tell us that you're actually FOR all of the things that the far left wing of the Democrat Party is campaigning against but you just don't like the way that Trump is DOING those things because it's Trump? Simple question for you, Mac! Why didn't you do ALL of those things when Obama was in charge or when Biden was in charge?

That is pretty much the government side of anything that are social agendas. A lot of it does not trickle down as much as when it started from the taxpayer's wallet. You guys turned hospitals and medicine into a business.

Because I'm not a Democrat, nor have I ever been, nor could I ever be.

I told you, you wouldn't understand. But I tried.

America needs to face its race problem and do so now.
In the United States race problems are caused by a problem race. I don't mean whites or East Asians. I mean the race that is accurately associated with crime, low intelligence, and having litters of illegitimate children that whites and East Asians are expected to support on welfare.
