I told everyone here that this was going on and they called me a nutcase. Well read this you morons:

Bel-Air wrestles with homeless crisis after encampment fire destroys multimillion-dollar homes

In the tony hillside neighborhoods of Bel-Air and Brentwood, residents say they are aware of the homeless people who live in the shadows of their multimillion-dollar homes.

The affluent area along the 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass, home to celebrities, corporate titans and others, has not been immune to the homeless crisis that has spread across Los Angeles. Some residents express sympathy and concern for the homeless, while others are wary and want them out.

But the Skirball fire, which destroyed homes and forced the evacuation of a large chunk of Bel-Air, has put the issue at the forefront of community debate. Officials say the blaze was caused by a cooking fire at a homeless camp along the 405. Investigators say the fire was set accidentally, but they have not been able to find those who occupied the camp.

Resident Alma Soll, whose balcony was covered with soot by the fire, said that the homeless population is a part of life in the area but that the fire was disconcerting.

“It’s scary,” said Soll, 70.

Many residents said they don’t want to demonize the homeless but also worry about the fire danger in the wake of the blaze, which spread quickly after starting Dec. 6 and was 90% contained a week later.

they could build shelters and homes for the homeless Vets, that would ease their fears of fires going haywire....

Sounds to me this is the poor taking it into their own hands on bringing socialism to the liberal elite who dwell in Californication. If the politicians wont bring fairness of equality through misery, then the homeless will..

They should definitely build shelters, homes and even open a free Starbucks for the homeless only. And then all the other states can give their homeless people free bus tickets to the left coast.

That's pretty much what happens, already. I live in the Eugene area which makes it VERY easy to be homeless. Portland is the same way. The more that is done for the homeless, the more homeless arrive from elsewhere.

I bet if somebody were to conduct a serious census type study of the homeless in Oregon, they would find the large majority were not from Oregon at all. The nub nut politicians cannot seem to understand cause and effect. The more that homelessness is a problem here, the more they do for the homeless, and the more they do for the homeless, the more that homelessness is a problem.

I knew that the fires were deliberately set. I know people that live in Bel Air. They knew what happened.

That is not easy. You are talking 3-4 fully staffed sepeate facilities per county. Families? Seperate men from women? Do Illegals get free squatters rights? Do you chain a Dem lawyer to every bunk for when they get assualted, beat up, raped or deprived a hot meal? Do you let them shoot dope and come crash? Security......medical.....food......cable......heat.....A/C
showers. ....remember Brown has ensured a water crisis. Takes 1 hours each way to travel anywhere.

I admit, it is heartbraking. But, no easy answers.

A camp fire for warmth (it's very cold at night right now) is NOT a deliberately set fire. What IS a deliberately set fire is someone getting lost and setting a fire to get attention (as happened down here in San Diego County, tho they got that one out fast)

Almost all of the wildfires here are started by homeless or illegals. *Slight* hidden cost to the problems.

People can't afford to live in CA. That's what's wrong there. How's bout looking at the homeless crisis for real this time?

CA has 24 hour 100% control & housing of inmates. They still have fights, deaths, rapes, lawsuits......etc.

If this homeless citizen population has grown to 1 mil or ~2.5% + million of illegal border crossers, what to do? Construct one level below "Jailed" status? Up to other levels for the good ones? Desert tent cities? Do you want to work in the kitchen or latrine?

Edit: people scrape ice off windshields in south San Jose during Nov Dec Jan Feb. Yes it gets cold there too. You can't live outside.

unless we get to the root of the cause of homelessness, there will be no right answers on what to do.... the largest group of homeless are Veterans.... why is that the case? PTSD or other mental illnesses?

Brazil has hunters keeping the feral population down. Maybe the idea is one whose time has come.

Wonderful...a large % of California's homeless population are veterans......Tipsy suggests shooting them. That background story has to be absolutely FASCINATING.
I live here. The homeless are largely black and Hispanic drunks and drug addicts.

It's the romance of the brooding and rejected war hero.

Stop watching so much television. These people are worthless disease carriers.

So I think I see...the campfire to keep warm was not deliberately started. Must have just started itself like guns go out and kill people. lol...
