Zone1 Huh, so what do you make of the Pope's statement?

If the man in the pointy hat which sits on his throne in Rome really said that then it raises some doubt about his leanings. Seems very socialist to me.

How about putting your money where your mouth is and giving away all that 6B of gold the Vatican is sitting on.

Hey, maybe something got lost in the translation. 😐

so what do you make of the Pope's statement?

That he is preaching the Gospel.

Jesus taught that believers should be faithful stewards of the resources, abilities, and time God has entrusted to them. Through parables like the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) and the Ten Minas (Luke 19), Jesus emphasized accountability, urging his followers to actively invest their gifts for the growth of God's Kingdom rather than hiding them in fear. The Parable of the Talents illustrates that followers are temporary managers of God's property and will be judged on how responsibly they used what they were given. Stewardship requires using talents and resources to benefit others and the church, not for selfishness, as shown by Jesus washing the disciples' feet. Jesus encouraged using worldly wealth to serve God rather than being mastered by money (Luke 16:1-13). This involves stewarding God-given abilities, time, opportunities, and stewardship of personal vocations. Good stewards are rewarded and trusted with more, while bad stewards are described as "wicked and slothful".

The Catholic Church, just like so many other institutions, has been hollowed out by the communist movement.

The Catholic church is an embarrassment, an empty hollowed out walnut shell of its former self. Membership was slipping so instead of a real Pope, they put a communist politician in there to try to garner the Muzzie vote.

Muslims were the only group left on the planet not having given up on their church yet.

Gee Ding, that is the first obtusely stupid thing I've ever seen you say.

Tell me, where in the gospel does it preach that killing 100,000 innocent unarmed protestors is OK? Not killing, but butchering them. Cutting their hearts out. Throwing them off buildings. Torturing them. Raping women. Can you link me to one word by Leo denouncing these actions?

Kinda funny Leo denouncing Trump for going after the bad guys when his own church spent hundreds of years going after bad guys.

They were called the Crusades.

You know, before the Church and Islam self-aligned.

"Everyone . . . works . . . to serve the common good rather than private interests."

Yep. Stupid. How does one serve the common good if he doesn't have the resources to serve it with? Obviously, when your plane loses cabin pressure, you have to apply oxygen to yourself before you can to anyone else.

Private interests have to come first for that reason. Also because the pursuit of private interests is freedom, which is what America is supposed to be about.

Your words are strikingly terrifying. I'd never thought of it in that way before.

I think, reasonably so, that the Pope in the 1930s liked Hitler is he liked the socialist programs Hitler installed prior to his going to war. Hitler went on a massive building program as well as having factories producing war materials.

Wow. Isn't that right out of the Communist/Marxist Manifesto?

How does one serve the common good if he doesn't have the resources to serve it with? Private interests have to come first for that reason.

One serves the "common good" by the producers giving up more and the takers taking more. Private interests must come first because they reward the individual for his superior individual effort.

Without rewarding the individual for being productive, you can only eventually end up with no producers and all takers.

Well think LB, when is the last time you ever heard this pope criticize anything muslims do? I bet he'd have no compunction in criticizing the USA or Israel though.

You'll never hear a critical word aimed at our wonderful Islamic brethren.
But Trump supporters?? Crucify 'em!

I am...... and figure the best indication of the 2nd coming will be a huge smoking hole were the vatican used to be

Most every kid in my neighborhood growing up was a Catholic. I have no real problem with the faith nor the church, just this idiot of a pope.

Well, at least now the Left have found common ground with the Catholic faith, they both seem to like muslims.

Gee, wasn't Joe Biden a catholic?

Golly, he sure was! He was an abortion worshipping Catholic who supposedly literally crapped his diaper when he met the Pope.

Sounds Communist. In America, individuals have freedom of opportunity to lift themselves up to higher levels which automatically provides for the common good. We don't need a Pope or government to make equal outcome.

I never could figure that out how one portends to be a strict Catholic all the while defending free abortion at will.

Isn't that a little bit like being a street thug robbing people and stores while working as a police officer too?

Stick around, I'll try to say some more obtusely stupid things for your benefit.

It only makes sense if you read what he said and read the gospels. But here's a quick summary of the relevant points in the gospel he was preaching:

Jesus taught that believers should be faithful stewards of the resources, abilities, and time God has entrusted to them. Through parables like the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) and the Ten Minas (Luke 19), Jesus emphasized accountability, urging his followers to actively invest their gifts for the growth of God's Kingdom rather than hiding them in fear.
