Don't you think that it's ironic that you believe he is being blasphemous and depicting himself as Jesus based on the claims of people who regularly mock christianity and judaism (never Islam, though)?

To add confusion into the mix, when CC first came onto this board years ago, she was literally discussing/asking questions about wanting to write what could be taken as a very blasphemous novel to bring Jesus updated into the modern era but as a now more relatable Jesus now being a hip Fonzi type young dude riding a motorcycle wearing a leather jacket.

She was jiggy with that idea despite my frequent efforts to discount the idea from her mind as not a good idea, is now writing Trump off for simply sharing a strange flattering artwork of him he found somewhere that merely depicts him in a healer/savior-like appearing role. How does one love the one idea yet revile the other?

Very hard to reconcile these two.

Here is something someone did at least 1.5 years ago: oddly, no one made any big deal about it then (or since), despite its clear religious overtures.

Now say 3 Hail Trumps, confess your sins to Barron, and perhaps your soul too can still be saved...

In those robes, he could have as well been depicting Muhammed as Jesus. Or Moses, I guess.

The art is one of mixed signals with a clear effort to depict Trump in a savior-type role with "angels" overhead (all appearing like military), people praying, looking up to him, the robes, the glowing light in one hand, the laying on of his other hand on the sick, etc., so, the effort is clearly one of either attempting to elevate Trump to that of a savior of sorts or an attempt to just tick off weak-minded Christians.

I can understand Trump posting it:

1. Who wouldn't be flattered at being depicted as a savior.
2. Trump clearly does not get a fraction of the credit he deserves that we all know any democrat would get if they did a fraction of what Trump has.
3. Trump was probably flattered and took it as crediting him a little for his many tireless years of trying to save America and restore it to its once former greatness.
4. Stupid republicans have now fallen for the art and shown the Hollywood marketers behind the DNC just how to, and how easily it is to trigger gullible republicans.

Personally, I think it was meant to be a response to the Pope, for inviting himself into our political governance with disapproval, while embracing Islam, and telling Christians, "not to fear Islam, but treat it with dialog and respect", while Muslims kill Christians all over the globe.

I wouldn't have posted it, but then, I'm not Trump and I've not been shot at, attempted murdered, vilified, criticized, arrested, charged, dragged through the courts, convicted of bogus crimes, had the CIA help impeach me over things I never did, then have the Nobel Committee give away a peace award to some unknown lady after I stopped 8 wars!

And I would have been against it had Trump painted it himself or said he commissioned it or adored it for depicting him as Jesus, but Trump did none of those things. He simply posted some art he found somewhere that he found flattering, probably because it appeared to credit him to a degree for his amazing efforts around the globe and nation whereas the MSM and Left give him ZERO credit.

And again, the art may very well have been a deliberate ploy planted by the Left with the intent to sew division in Trump's support, and apparently some people like you have fallen for it.

I think any Christian would be much more offended by the Pope's very literal claim that he is God's representative on Earth that he makes every day, that is not taken out of context, nor ever retracted by the Pope. Especially since he has set himself now also up as an authority on secular matters, such as nuclear non-proliferation. Worse still that in doing so, he is coming down on the side of proliferation.

Not that Christians should be offended by Mr. Robert Francis Prevost, a Man born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 14, 1955. Ideally we should think of him as any other lost sinner, as we all once were.

That he has adopted the moniker "Pope Leo XIV" and claims to be the living embodiment of the Church that Jesus ordained when he did indeed walk the Earth as God's representative, should only make us all the more hopeful that he will cast off such hubris and humbly ask Jesus for salvation in the personal way that Christians experience it.
