Here's a thought on Ukraine.

The Donbas could be ceded to Russia in exchange for an end to the war.
The U.N. could then declare Russia to be a "rogue state" (which it certainly is).
Russia could then be isolated economically through sanctions and travel bans.
The price for lifting these would be withdrawal from the Donbas.
Ukraine would agree not to seek to join NATO if Russia withdraws from the Donbas.
If Russia doesn't withdraw Ukraine would seek NATO membership.

Who gives a **** what the UN declares?...Certainly not anyone who would be doing business with Russia on the down-low, which would include a number of UN countries.
