Well I wasn't going to reveal how I voted here because that's often used as a weapon against you in debate. But since you asked politely, I left the presidential selection blank on my ballot. I knew it wasn't crucial in my state, Trump was going to win easily and none of the candidates met my criteria for my vote.

I still disagree with Trump on numerous things but I wish him success and I was very happy Hillary didn't win.

I've never really "disliked" Trump. In the beginning, I was split between him and Cruz and I actually thought he would be a less polarized candidate in a general election. I still don't know that Cruz could have overcome the vitriol from the establishment GOP and simultaneously handled the nasty and sleazy liberal left. But I realized as time went on, Trump is not a conservative. He leans conservative on some things and on other things he doesn't. He's a populist. I'm still a conservative and I have to adhere to my conservative principles regardless of populism. Had I lived in Pennsylvania or Michigan, I may have voted for Trump but since I knew he was going to win my state, I chose to leave the presidential boxes blank on my ballot.

I'm with you on the left's derangement over Trump. I don't get it at all. For instance, out of the box, he is the most pro-gay president we've ever had. You'd think the liberal left would give him a little credit for that at least... but they act like the sun isn't going to rise after Jan. 20. I think open-minded people will find that he is not that bad of a president... far better than Hillary would have been. He's not going to be a great president but he will be a good president and I think he will do good things for America. Or at least, I hope that's the case.

Actually, that's not the case. I was disappointed my candidate didn't win but I wasn't butthurt, I was willing to accept Trump's victory as the GOP nominee. My beef was with the attitudes of Trump's supporters after the convention, when they seemed more intent on attacking Ted Cruz than going after Hillary Clinton. That lasted a couple of weeks until the Trump campaign realized their numbers were tanking and they began to reel that garbage back in and started trying to woo the Cruz conservatives. In the closing weeks of the presidential campaign, I thought Trump made some of the strongest conservative speeches in over 30 years for the GOP. THAT is what got me over my animosity and I believe that's what won the election for Trump.

I'm not a "never-trumper" and never have been. I have an optimistic attitude about Trump and I believe he has the potential to be a really good president if he sticks to conservative principles. I'm willing to cut him some slack because I realize he's not an ideological conservative and he's going to govern as a populist. I'm not going to ever abandon my principles to be his cheerleader... I won't do that for any politician. But I'm not going to criticize everything he does because he's not Ted Cruz.

My OP was not about Trump and I stated that in the OP. It was about the attitude of his die-hard supporters. They were acting like little liberal trolls and I had enough of that. I didn't have a problem with them acting that way toward liberals because Trump didn't need liberals to vote for him to beat Hillary. I wasn't whining or pouting, I was strongly voicing my opinion that Trump supporters needed to dial back their vitriol over Cruz and get over him not endorsing Trump.

And I haven't "cheered on" anything... I simply told you what I think Trump is doing. When you're dealing with bullies (and that's the radical left)... you can't appease them, you can't go along with them, you can't apologize to them... you have to smack them in the kisser... and you have to keep smacking that kisser until they learn how to play nice. And I think that is precisely what Trump is doing... he's breaking them down. I get that you don't like it... bullies never like this. But that's how you have to deal with them, it's the only thing that works.
