Oh rest assured. Trumps rhetoric was a catalyst to much of the discord we are seeing now. Both from his critics and from his supporters. It wasn’t hard to see coming.Trump’s rhetoric did not provoke violence from Democrats, Democrat rhetoric did.
When Democrats begat the violence by assaulting Trump supporters, they put in motion a cycle of violence that all but guaranteed that sooner or later right wingers would strike back.
Everything we’ve seen up to this point is rooted directly in the initial violence committed by Democrats during the campaign and the subsequent four years of Trump’s presidency, including January 6.
And let me take a minute to remind you of the nutjob that shot at Republican politicians at a softball game.
Below is a link to a 2018 article that documents no less than 389 incidents of violence, threats and vandalism against Trump supporters and Trump-related property (Trump campaign booths, yard signs, college campus conservative activities, etc.) from September 2015 to February 2020.
