America should and must put forward their offer to the citizens there and outline why America needs a major presence or more there.
Greenland has never belonged to the USA - therefore the USA has absolutely no right to interfere in Danish and Greenland's INTERNAL affairs - that's exactly as to how wars get started - see Clausewitz.
However Denmark or a future sovereign Greenland is free to ask any country for e.g. military assistance or becoming a member in a military alliance. This goes for ANY sovereign nation.
Therefore e.g. Cuba, Panama or Greenland have a right to ask for Chinese military presence and protection - and before you get onto your crusade against China - Taiwan is NOT a sovereign nation. That the USA is desperately trying to get a hold of Taiwan, aka to send US military onto Taiwan is understood - just as it was the USA's intention with Ukraine.
