This is Weird. Greenland's Danish Rulers Reject Hospital for Sick Greenlanders because it is Donald Trump who is Offering it.

It is to Europe.

Sweet. But he does so after months of berating these people with ultimatums that they have no choice but be taken over by the USA. Marco has much work to do. I would approach the issue as mutual partners with some treaty between the countries.
Trump made you take a dump, eh? Lefties I expect, l but you?

Trump has not bullied anybody in Greenland or Denmark.
Here is what he actually said. "With their consent."

That is what Trump is saying NOW after someone convinced him to tone down the rhetoric. Remember, it wasn't that many weeks ago that the EU was sending troops and Navy to defend Greenland from a USA invasion.

Trump started out like a bull in a china closet telling them they had no choice and Trump wasn't taking no for an answer.

And the damage is done. Now Greenland says they'd rather die than take any gift from Trump.

Trump made you take a dump, eh?

Hey, do you want honesty or just the blind p-arty partisanship the Left think we are all guilty of.

I support Trump because he is a million times better than any democrat and a hundred times better than most any Repub., but that doesn't mean he is God, that he is perfect, or that I must fully agree with everything he says and does.

Trump will probably get some deal with Greenland, but he's right on the edge of losing it. Canada? I think that ship has sailed but we will see.

But I do not know if I want any of them as my 51st state.

Sending a hospital ship to help people who have reached out to say that they are unable to get medical care under their country's system
I've seen no report of this 'reached out'. Did you reach that out of Chump's arse?

I complain about Trump too. Generally, not in a way to support Greenland.

If the people of Greenland decide to join the United States, medical services could easily be provided by selling oil leases and using the money to subsidize insurance policies. Once they have insurance, providing them medical care will be profitable.

Kelsey Seybold, for example, is very good at building large medical facilities very quickly. They are also good at holding down costs. Not saying they are perfect, but I've been happy with their care and they have never put me on a wait list.
One can easily see why Greenland is running a mile from that dystopian hell.

Their healthcare is why they want to stay with Denmark.

Apparently, you do not mind that if a Greenlander suffers a heart attack or cancer, he has to travel to Denmark and get on their waiting list.

Um, you know that a ship can come out of maintenance just as easily as it can go in, correct?

Maybe you don't know that. Ayn Rand wrote about bureaucrats who think that their regulations superceded the laws of nature.
Are you terminally stupid?

The USNS Mercy is in drydock! Do you know what that means?

I took an LHA through overhaul after the Gulf War. I know how hard is to get a ship out of drydock and back to operational status. Do you?

Bizarre.

WASHINGTON – Greenland rejected a seemingly impromptu plan by Donald Trump to send a hospital boat to the island he's trying to acquire, saying in a searing statement that the U.S. president should respect the territory's sovereignty and stop needling it on social media.

“It’s a no thank you from here," Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen said. "President Trump’s idea of sending an American hospital ship here to Greenland has been noted."

The statement followed Trump's announcement in a Feb. 21 social media post that he planned to send a hospital vessel to Greenland to care for sick residents of the Arctic island, whom he said weren't receiving treatment.

"Working with the fantastic Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, we are going to send a great hospital boat to Greenland to take care of the many people who are sick and not being taken care of there. It’s on the way!!!" Trump said, referring to his special envoy to the island.

Nowhere in the story does Denmark say they are sending their own hospital shop or building a hospital in Greenland to provide desperatately needed healthcare. It is long past time for the last vestiges of European colonialism to be eradicated from the Americas.

The United States has a long-standing agreement allowing fulsome access to Greenland, and of course is free to operate ships in the international waters near Greenland. If the Danish rulers prevent Greenlanders from getting treatment in the American hospital ship, they will have to do it by confining the native people to the island, because it has no authority and certainly no power to preven the U.S. from offering it.

The Danish king wants his colonists to die.

No kings!

Too late for that. Besides, everyone has seen how the US treats treaties.

I don't necessarily support Greenland, I just wish Trump would try occasionally going into a situation without reminding these little countries that they are like an ant and we could crush them.

Trump might be a great businessman but he could learn a thing or two about diplomacy.

I gave up on him publicly doing that. I still value him.
What are the citizens of Nuuk called? Nuukies?
Beats me. I may have flown over Greenland on the trip to Frankfurt, Germany or on the later trip back. We landed both times in Newfoundland.

They don’t need a hospital ship.

Denmark provides them with one of the best healthcare systems on the planet

Progressives in the 1960's were protesting/rioting/insurrectionists the second of two wars we had in Southeast Asia with the SEATO treaty. A treaty that had a heavy Prog influence in it. We play a dangerous game expanding NATO like we did under Joe.
