Texas appears to be rewriting the definition of revisionist history and assholery.

The advent of slavery in America could not be taught as representing the true founding of the United States, but rather a “deviation” from American principles, according to the bill. Students also couldn’t be required to learn about the New York Times’ Pulitzer Prize-winning 1619 Project, which aims to put “the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative.”​

If your mother has two or more sons, they are the only ones born to be brothers, all others are "outsiders" and competition.
We come from Hominids and even further back, some type of primates, as such we are familial/tribal, but hold no allegiance to some individual(s) from other families/tribes. When you get humans down to their very basic survival needs, all who are not family, are competitors for resources. Being civilized and polite only comes along when everyone is in agreement.
