I think any guitarist who masterfully owns acoustics will easily play the electric guitar, and the opposite will not be true, because the right hand of electric guitarists almost does not work. Electrics can sound just like an acoustic and their sonic range is much more complex.

And there is really no difference in skill required at the higher levels.

Many people play electric guitars finger style. Some of the best rock and rollers play without a pick.

An electric may feel easier to play in the beginning because of the lighter strings but that in no way means they require less skill.
