An initiative that demanded that constitution, electoral law and referendum law may not be changed without referendum has been nipped in the bud by the constitutional court of Hamburg. The initiative also called for lower minimum number of signers of a popular petition. It should be noted that the Senate of Hamburg put pressure on the court.

The court ruled that those demands my not come in a package but also said, all of the demands must be rejected, anyway.
Following reasons are cited:

- The "overweight of the parliamentary democracy may not be questioned"
- The minimum contribution in a petition shall protect the majority from an organized minority
- The demands violate the "principles of democracy"

The ruling has caused thrills of ecstasy among the high ranking members of the established regime parties.
Farid "Müller" of the green war party jubilated that the direct and parliamentary democracy has been strengthened and Carola Veit of the social-democratic party of privatization of public property is happy that the supremacy of the parliamentary democracy were confirmed.

The initiative "Rettet den Volksentscheid´s" (Save the Referendum) spokesperson Manfred Brand called the ruling a canonization of the "party democracy".

I think no further words are required to describe this "democracy" in which citizens have no say.

Socialism is tyranny.

it's what 'dems' want here.

Good luck with the revolution, you will need one.

Thanks at first but I should mention this is not about socialism or capitalism. We don´t have socialism but we also don´t put people on food stamps. What we used to have is the so called "social market economy". It is still in place but the spirit of the free enterprise has changed and is pushing towards the Anglo-Saxon model and global acting companies are taking over the economy.
This all does not have to do anything with the current case of denial of democracy in the name of democracy. I still hear those hypocrites saying lets wage more democracy...
A revolution is still far away. Egoism and fear of unemployment is what people drive here. You won´t see people acting on the behalf of others. This is an outright denial of society and civilization and a coup is more likely than a revolution. Yet, a coup requires people willing to act and we lack those people, as well.
