FOX:Pope Francis is the Catholic Church’s Obama – God help us

I would think that anyone who lives their life by following the Bible likes what the Pope is saying. Now when I say living one's life based on the teaching of the Bible, I mean the entire Bible. Too many folks use the Bible when it's convenient but blow off the Bible when it conflicts with their ideological basics.
The Bible talks about helping the weak, poor and the elderly. The Bible tells us that God equates hate with murder. Not paying one's workers a fair wage is frowned upon. The Bible even refers to the wealthy transferring their wealth to the needy.
So along comes a Pope from a Third World country that reiterates what is written in the Bible and he is condemned and called a socialist or communist by a very tiny segment of the entire world population, the American far right. I wonder what this group's reaction to Jesus would be?

They would nail him to the cross again.

Pope Francis' unexpected Hanukkah gift | Fox News

think sallow will hold the same opinion and claim fox now supports the pope and that the saudi prince loved this story?

:eusa_whistle:

Not really sure what you are not getting.

The Saudis treat Israel and the United States almost exactly the same.

Friendly to their faces and behind their backs they let their impoverished masses know that both countries are part of the "Great Evil".

They also use them to attack their enemies.

How is this not clear to you?

:doubt:

Does the new liberal love affair with the pope mean they are done talking about the Catholic church being full of pedophiles and pedophile supporters?

No more than talking about the pedophiles and their supporters in the evangelical and fundamentalist and Pentecostal congregations.

Daily Kos: Pope Francis Responds to Rush Limbaugh's "Marxist" Charges

In an interview with Italian newspaper La Stampa, Pope Francis responded on Saturday to Rush Limbaugh's recent accusation that he is a "pure Marxist."
Asked how it felt to be called a Marxist, Time Magazine's Person of the Year answered:

"The Marxist ideology is wrong. But I have met many Marxists in my life who are good people, so I don’t feel offended."
Pope Francis went on to reiterate his criticism of trickle down economics, saying it never benefits the poor, instead resulting in the rich simply keeping more for themselves:

"The only specific quote I used was the one regarding the “trickle-down theories” which assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and social inclusiveness in the world. The promise was that when the glass was full, it would overflow, benefitting the poor. But what happens instead, is that when the glass is full, it magically gets bigger nothing ever comes out for the poor. This was the only reference to a specific theory. I was not, I repeat, speaking from a technical point of view but according to the Church’s social doctrine. This does not mean being a Marxist."

Really? The Daily Kos? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

you've got to be kidding me. they don't treat them the same at all. you're politically naive.

the point i made is that the prince has little say over the content, unlike murdoch who owns more than 90%. you're grasping at straws because you have an irrational hatred for fox.

And? They didn't misquote anything from the original article:

La Stampa - "Never be afraid of tenderness"

Catholic News Agency reported how Pope Francis stressed the importance of being humble and of service to the needy by explaining the true meaning of the Christmas story. “In Christmas, God reveals himself not as one who stands above and who dominates the universe, but as He who lowers himself,” said Pope Francis.

"It means that to be like Him, we do not have to place ourselves above the others, but come down, come down and serve them, become small among the small, and poor among the poor," he explained, according to Rome Reports.

"It's a bad thing when one sees a Christian that does not want to come down, a Christian that uses everything to show off. Not nice, eh? That is not Christian, that is paganism," Pope Francis said.

Thank you, sir. ;)

I have no irrational hatred for FOX at all. But it is easy to statistically prove, over and over and over again, that FOX is anything but balanced.

FOX's election night 2012 coverage - in terms of state calls and actual statistics, was excellent. Are you aware that FOX called a number of states for Obama BEFORE CNN, ABC and CBS?

But that adjacent commentary was just atrocious.

That is just one example.

FOX' entire Raison d'etre is to gin up Right Wing outrage over something. Like a "selfie", for instance. Or the President swatting a fly, for instance. Or just plain old lying and misquoting. Or deliberately changing the political affiliation of known personalities in the chyrons under the reporting (see: Mark Foley, Larry Craig). FOX uses every trick in the book to demonize the Left and make everything the Right does to be harmless.

The Saudi's treat both Israel and the US like guns they can point and shoot at enemies. What part of that have you missed?

And has "little" say? Having ANY say is pretty bad..chief.

Why do trolls like this constantly get away with hijacking a thread for their own little political/bigoted discussions? On another forum I participate in, the Mods would NEVER let them get away with this.

Bye.

Pope Francis Pagan Comments Call Out High-And-Mighty Christians

Where's the part where he 'calls out the high and mighty ' ?

Sorry bout that,

1. I am shocked by the new Pope, he wants to accept homos within the church, those statements were followed by my Priest that homos were to be welcomed into the church, my Priest did a question and answer, which didn't' go well for him, the people were outraged!!!!.
2. I call that bat shit crazy.
3. If a herd of San Fran Homos came into the church with their face paint and dresses of pink and purple, I would walk the fuck out.
4. I hate to imagine homos working within the church.

Regards,
SirJamesofTexas

On some level you must know you're evil.

1. Because the Pope has set the Church back to before Christ came and did what he did doesn't make me evil.
2. The Pope says there is no difference between religions or even atheists, I call that insanity.
3. Its all good, and we all are *ok* and all doctrine or non doctrine is approved by him and the church.
4. No, hell no!
5. This Pope is whack!
6. And this king has no cloths.

CNN did a recent poll of Catholics and got a number that even shocked me...

...only 7% of Catholics polled said that the new Pope was too liberal.

If that doesn't prove how far out of the mainstream the modern day Right is I don't know what would.

I honest-to-God changed the title under my user name before I saw this post - by about five minutes. I was thinking Otis Redding, of course.

Whoa.
