While I think Snowden is a traitor? This is definitely really good news!

WASHINGTON — A federal district judge ruled on Monday that the National Security Agency program that is systematically keeping records of all Americans’ phone calls most likely violates the Constitution, describing its technology as “almost Orwellian” and suggesting that James Madison would be “aghast” to learn that the government was encroaching on liberty in such a way.

A very definite step in the right direction!

That is very unfortunate. Hopefully this ruling will be corrected soon.

I have no doubt it will be "corrected". The Judge is on shaky ground and further deprecated his ruling by citing a quote made by a founding father.

But be that as it may, these sort of things have a tendency to chip away at the underlying problem.

Which in this case is where a citizen's privacy ends and the security concerns of the government begins.
