Fox News legal expert sees “no viable case” against James Comey

I happen to be a fan of McCarthy.

That doesn’t make him right.

But, at least he acknowledges things like his own personal biases.
I have always liked him too and also appreciate his acknowledgement of possible bias which is why I don't give his opinion that much weight in this instance.

All of a sudden lefties are impressed by the opinion of a Fox legal contributor? O.K but it's a done deal by a Grand Jury

If Comey walks, our legal system isn't worth a ****.
There's a saying, "A Grand Jury could indict a turnip." The reasoning is that the Jurors on a Grand Jury hear only the prosecution's side of an issue. Various legal experts are saying that with regards to the Comey issue, it's really 50-50 on a conviction.
Without any real hard evidence pointing to it being solely Comey, it's sort of a he said, they said issue.

This is a good clip that I didn't want to waste on the poster above.

It is a pretty open discussion by a panel of "experts," including Chris Christie who was once a U.S. Attorney. One of them claims to have been a victim of lawfare by the FBI during the Trump administration:

It brings up a point: The U.S. Attorney who brought the case has no prosecutorial experience.

The answer should be "so what? She has experienced career prosecutors working for her with all the needed expertise. So it won't be a problem."

Any reason that would not be the case?

So one person affiliated with Fox stated his opinion without hearing all the evidence
on the two indictments, gave his opinion, and that is gospel to you. Got it.

Pretty amazing really, Meister.

For years and years, all we heard from the Left when Fox News was warning us about Covid-19, the vaccine, Gorge Floyd, Ivermectin, or J6, was that Fox was fake news with nothing to ever be believed.

Pay no attention to the Fox behind the red curtain.

But let just one person connected with Fox, or the Republican GOP, etc., say one thing even halfway suitable for consumption by democrats, then the Left are all: "See! Even Fox News agrees with us! I told you! Even other republicans are against Trump!!!"

This is a good clip that I didn't want to waste on the poster above.

Two things are clear now in prosecuting Comey we learned from the Trump hearings:
  1. Biden taught us you can indict a high-ranking person like Comey & never even tell him what crime he is being charged with.
  2. The punishment is the process. Trump is free to drag Comey through the ringer, cost him tens of millions of dollars, spend nights in jail, hire lawyers, etc., then find out the charges are dropped anyway and were totally specious.

And now f those experienced people want anything to do with this

This explains why my fellow conservatives here have no answer when I ask them what James Comey lied about. Even Fox News says there’s no proof James Comey lied.

"[The indictment] seems to be premised on something that's not true, which is that [former Deputy Director Andrew] McCabe said that Comey authorized him to leak to the Wall Street Journal. If you look closely at what McCabe said, what McCabe said was that he directed a leak to The Wall Street Journal and told Comey about it after the fact," McCarthy explained.

“"So it's true that Comey never authorized it in the sense of okaying it before it happened," the legal expert expanded. "So I don't see how they can make that case."

I agree with FOX , trump is blowing hot air as usual.

I thought Fox News always lied.

Absolutely. Trump is not only free to do so, but he is obligated to do so, in my opinion.

If Trump let's Comey go, as Trump asked Comey to let General Flynn go and was refued, then the precedent will be set that Democrats and "not Democrats" can do this to every Republican president that they find to be extreme, and so out of the mainstream that extrordinary measures should be taken to ensure his or her failue. In other words, every Republican president since Nixon, and every Republican president in the future.

Trump's successor must continue, until every prosecutor, investigator, lawyer, and congressperson who lied over and over again to put him through what he went through has paid the price.

If Democrat and "not Democrats" don't like it, let them propose some kind of change that will stop the sides from tearing each other apart. Or let them drop their radical ideas that keep their most extreme base on the plantation but have alienated mainstream voters, so they can win an election.

That's not their option. Halligan is their boss. They can enthusiastically work to support her efforts, they can resign, or they can be fired. I prefer the latter, because I wouldn't trust them if they suddenly started acting like the subordinates they are.

Drawing a government check and not doing the work will no longer be an option for fedemps. No "remote work" consisting of posting on message boards under multiple socks, and emailing each other about how much Trump sux.

On the other hand Fox legal expert Mark Levin spent about a half hour on Sunday explaining about the solid case against Comey.

I have no idea if Comey is guilty and neither do you nor does the Fox news analyst. They don’t have access to the evidence anymore than you or I do. What I do know is that the federsal government gets convictions in 90%+ of its indictments. Read into that whatever you’d like.

Lost in all this talk about whether Comey lied to congress under oath about his leaking is the fact that he was such a prolific leaker. He leaked and leaked and leaked. After stonewalling Congress by refusing to talk about perpetual "ongoing investigations," he blabbed to a journalist friend in order to make Trump look bad.

Just like he told the world about the evidence against Hillary when he had no intention - likely ever - of recommending her prosecution. When are those lionizing Comey because he is Trump's enemy going to realize that he is in it for no one but himself.

Mark Levin is a great conservative thinker and a lawyer.

He is a great analyst.

But, even so, he too doesn’t know what evidence may have been presented to the Grand Jury. I am looking forward to finding out.

I’d enjoy seeing Comey sweat. He deserves it.
