Five hundred miles down the Atlantic Coast, the only road to Tybee Island, Ga., is disappearing beneath the sea several times a year, cutting the town off from the mainland.

“Once impacts become noticeable, they’re going to be upon you quickly,” said William V. Sweet, a scientist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Silver Spring, Md., who is among the leaders in research on coastal inundation. “It’s not a hundred years off — it’s now.”

Couple of problems.

First, short term flooding due to strong storms along any coast is relatively normal. It's not some magic new thing.

Second, I am always bugged by people that don't realize the land can change too. For example, the better part of New Orleans is sinking land. The land itself, is going down, fast than the sea level is rising. Flooding along areas of the ocean that are sinking.... isn't because of some magic change in the atmosphere.

Third, I don't know any Republican, or Conservative, or Libertarian, or any right-wing thinker, who denies climate change. The climate has been changing for the last 6,000 years. Now is no different.

What we object to, is the limited evidence, mostly made up mythology, and the religiously dogmatic enforced orthodoxy, that somehow human beings have caused this change in the climate.

I have no problem with, and think policy makers should take into consideration the effects of rising sea levels, and what impact changes in environment will have.

What I don't believe, is that policy makers should buy the snake oil of "CO2 Greenhouse effect", and adopt policies that destroy the economy, and ruin people's lives, and force a drop in our standard of living, that drives eco-religious nuts pushing to prevent the mythical eco-boogie man from magically making the Earth molten ball of melted rock.

There is lots of evidence that the Earth was vastly warmer in the past, than it is today.

Just because we have no written records from thousands of years ago, doesn't mean that the warming we see today, was never seen before. Only that we have no record of seeing it before.

Add to that all the rivers and streams being dammed up and the sediment load the used to replenish the beaches is interrupted thus allowing the beaches and sand bars to be eroded away as there is no new sand being deposited. It's an old problem, and one that has been known about for decades. The AGW conmen rely on the collective ignorance of the people to lie to them.
