Would you support an ammendment to the Federal age of consent to have sex at 16 that included a lower age if with parental/guardian's consent similar to Europe and Japan?

Yes.

16's about right, driving age and all. But puberty begins much younger and since not all kids are raised with the same sense of responsibility and maturity I think making it illegal to enjoy sex is only causing harm. So if you have parental consent I'd be ok with it down at 13 for those within a year or two of each other, 15 otherwise.

The Netherlands and Japan do this, and we do it in the US although only for marriage so it's not unprecedented.

A valid simplified rule. Age is too high though imo. Can enlist in the military at 17 and learn how to kill people, but not make love with them?
