FBI opens investigation into Letitia James

Kash Patel's FBI has opened a formal investigation into James mortgage issues. Based on a referral, it now has morphed into an active investigation. She listed her father as her husband on documents now under question.

The investigation, first reported by the Albany Times Union, follows a request that the Justice Department investigate James, sent by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte to the Justice Department last month.

New York’s Northern District, where Pulte’s referral was steered, is led by US Attorney John Sarcone III, an ally of President Trump.

Pulte’s letter alleged James “falsified records” to obtain favorable loans on a home she purchased in 2023 in Virginia and a Brooklyn brownstone she’s owned since 2001.

“Ms. James, for both properties listed above, appears to have falsified records in order to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms,” Pulte told Attorney General Pam Bondi.

That could amount to criminal charges, including wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and false statements to a financial institution, among others, Pulte added.

The FBI and US Attorney’s Office in Albany didn’t immediately return requests for comment Thursday.

James’ office declined to comment.

Of course. Vindman is next. Anyone who disparaged Trump must pay.

xThe bank testified

They loved him

Where was this broadcast???? Nicholas Haigh, who testified at Trump's sentencing hearing, is RETIRED and no longer works for the bank. He wasn't testifying on behalf of the bank by any stretch. Deutches Banke severed ties and ceased doing business with Trump in 2021.

I also seriously doubt the Bank "loved" Trump at all, given that he once sued them for $300 million.

My impression has always been that they only reason they did business with Trump is because he was laundering money for the Russians.

Took me a few minutes to get the exact page:

See the second to last paragraph. They wouldn’t have done business without the guarantee and that resulted in favorable pricing.

Where’s your source?
AND? They thought his claim of assets were "broadly accurate" (not entirely accurate, but close enough), so they decided to give him a loan. His fucking apartment was just one asset of many that were on the line, and certainly not a major factor in the loan. :cuckoo:

I saw it on court tv

Trump's valuations were based on false information, which makes them fraudulent. End of story.

Is it though?

Banks are responsible for doing their own research on a lenders valuations.

Even if he did commit overvalue his properties, isn't that up to the bank to file a complaint? How does the AG get the authority to pursue this without a complaint?

Then, if he actually pays the fines, why does the state of new york get to keep them? Wouldn't that money go to the banks?

Also, where did she come up with 360M when their own experts testified his gains were about 168M?

AND? I’m right.

They didn’t know Trump’s statement was based on extensive lies, which is the definition of fraud.

Why the fuck would you think THAT? :cuckoo:

Trump lied to the banks.

Trump never lied to any bank you idiot. Quit reading all that leftwing crap. In lending, the bank made their own assessment of the value of Trump's property, agreed with him, gave him the loan, and Trump paid it back on time with interest to the bank's satisfaction and testified to that effect in court.

How did they come to the conclusion that his assets were "broadly accurate"? Why arent they just saying "accurate"? Because they knew they were off, but they didnt care.

You said he would have had a different loan rate, if only they knew the truth. You have NOT proven that stupid claim at all. You have provided ZERO evidence. :cuckoo:

They assumed Trump was telling the truth on his statement. Why wouldn’t they? It’s illegal to lie in financial documents. It’s fraud.

No, they thought he was mostly telling the truth, but not completely. In your own quote, his assets were considered "broadly accurate", and they were.

Ha! No. The assets were not “broadly accurate”. The trial proved that. The value of the assets was inflated substantially based on making false assumptions and ignoring inconvenient facts.

That’s fraud.

If you tell a lender you make a million dollars a year and only make 500k, you’re not broadly accurate. You’re committing fraud.

We finally got the FBI to do their job; the problem now will be to get the case to a Non-Corrupt Judge. Most are.

Think about it. 90% of Lawyers are dims and 100% of Judges are Lawyers. Anybody good at Math in here?

The Judiciary is turning out to be the most corrupt part of the Justice System. The people who preside over corruption are -- Corrupt.

Only in America.
