Examining the material impact of MAGA.

There is no shortage of bogus reports, funded by legacy energy companies, claiming renewable energy isn't cost competitive. They've been funding bogus research in denial of climate change for decades while privately acknowledging what is happening.
If they are competitive they don’t need subsidies.

Your head is so full of lies how would you know?
Only a Fraction of Republicans’ Much-Touted $50 Billion Rural Health Fund Can Help Struggling Hospitals Pay Their Bills
As President Donald Trump’s deadline for a massive budget bill drew near early in the summer, Republican Senate leadership needed to corral the support of some members of the conference. The bill would help pay for tax cuts for the wealthy partly through cuts to Medicaid and needed nearly all Republican votes to pass. The impact on rural hospitals, analysts warned, would be severe. But Republican leadership was able to win over key votes by directing a small slice of money to a “rural hospital fund.”

Now, all 50 states are now vying for a piece of that $50 billion fund, billed as a savior for floundering rural hospitals — and a backstop against the harmful impacts of the now-passed, historic cuts to Medicaid. The fund, and its application process which closed last Wednesday, has been called “the rural health ‘Hunger Games.’” States are in a mad dash for a slice of the investment.

Despite that, due to Trump administration restrictions on how the fund can be used, advocates now say that hospitals will not be able to spend it in the areas they most need to address.

Under Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services rules for distributing the funds, only 15% of any money awarded to states from this fund can be used to cover unpaid patient care, a major funding shortage for rural hospitals.

TPM? Good grief. Talk about a pack of lies…

'Assault on the public servants': Ex-DOJ officials calls out 'destruction' of department

A group of 282 former Justice Department (DOJ) officials has issued a warning accusing President Donald Trump of systematically eroding the core functions and independence of the DOJ.

In an open letter, the officials — none of whom are political appointees — claim the Department is under attack, MSNBC reported Monday.

“We believe it’s our duty to sound the alarm about this administration’s degradation of DOJ’s vital work, and its assault on the public servants who do it,” the letter reads, per the report.

The signatories are said to include a wide cross-section of long-serving career employees including prosecutors, FBI agents, analysts, immigration judges, civil rights lawyers and more.

Many of those who were forced out, they say, were involved in investigations relating to Jan. 6, 2021 riots, or inquiries into Trump himself. Others resigned quietly, unwilling to be complicit. All were nonpartisan career civil servants, not political appointees, per the report.

Destroying the DoJ is part of the MAGAist plan.

The Justice Department, Treasury, Health, State Department...

When one profoundly unwell man is under full control of a country's infrastructure, the damage is longstanding.

The world has seen this happen over and over and over and over.

But none of our former friends and former allies thought it would happen here. We were too important, too stable.

He is hellbent on weakening the country and in that endeavor indirectly aligns himself with the nation's enemies.

The letter accuses the current DOJ leadership of violating constitutional norms and threatening retaliation against employees who don’t align with the president’s wishes.

Some of the actions they point to include demotions, forced reassignments, firings, and pressure to abandon investigations. These moves, they argue, are draining the department of its institutional memory and eroding its ability to recruit and retain capable, independent staff.

Good.
It should be.
Because the DoJ has become a political tool instead of a tool of blind justice. Under Joe Biden it was stunningly corrupt, filled with apparatchiks who would have been quite happy in the old Soviet Union.
So **** these whiners. There's nothing worse than government bureaucrats kicking their heels in their high chairs, demanding that precious bureaucrats should never be touched because ... wah wah wah wah wah ...

What an idiotic ******* thing to say.
You're late for your lobotomy.

You think the moronic, inexperienced, unqualified team of Ka$h Patel and Dan Bongino makes the country stronger? That's a dream team for our adversaries.

Yes, I do.
And nobody cares what you think.

Under trump the DoJ has become a political tool instead of a tool of blind justice. The evidence is all around us. A prime example being 6 patriots being investigated for reciting the UCMJ chapter and verse.

You ******* idiot ... what do you think the DoJ did to over 1,000 people who walked through the Capitol on January 6?
They DESTROYED many of them for doing nothing more than snapping selfies after walking through doors opened by cops.
Quit defending the creepy lawlessness of the disgusting Biden DoJ.

Mr. Trump has at the same time anointed himself the country’s law enforcer in chief, eliciting shock as he has bulldozed the department’s longstanding independence from the White House. That boundary had historically ensured that criminal prosecutions were based on evidence, not partisan motives.

Repeatedly this year Mr. Trump has redirected the department’s traditional power to enforce laws and prosecute criminal cases to hound his critics and political foes. Mr. Trump and his aides have ordered the department to launch investigations and lodge criminal charges over the objections of nonpartisan career lawyers who found the evidence of wrongdoing dubious or slim.

The cumulative damage done to the once-respected Justice Department is so profound that it may not regain any semblance of its former self in our lifetimes, warn career law enforcement officials with whom we have spoken. It’s impossible to discount as hyperbole the alarm that these longtime civil servants are sounding from inside the house.

Many federal prosecutors and F.B.I. agents who recently worked for the department or who still do are disconsolate at the dizzying speed with which they see their beloved institution breaking the founders’ promise that American citizens be punished according to the law, rather than a king’s whims.

I'd like to think that assessment is too pessimistic. Whether it is will depend more on trumpery's lasting affect on the former GOP than anything else. If rank and file Repub voters continue to return folks like Gym Jordan, Mike Lee, and Jim Comer to Congress then it will prove to be correct.
Trumps law enforcement in democrats cities reduced crime in those cities which illustrates the democrats failure to control crime. They would rather see people killed then admit they failed
