I am a progressive too. I however can't support the so called "Progressives" - leftist groups, often take adjectives that are positive to label themselves, even when their policies have drastically harmful and oppressive consequences.

Woodrow Wilson for example was the leader of the Dem Party, and the so called Progressive Era, who's policies caused great harm, and were actually in part, a blue print for the National Socialist Party in Germany.

Then the revival was pretty obviously the extreme right, and is to this day.

D or R party being responsible isn't of enough interest to me to spend a lot of time on the question. I don't think that's going to be resoved on this forum. So I'll try to judge from the character of the respective messengers until something is offered that can pin it down solidly.
