This story brings to light another question, has the technology for determining "Brain Death" been flawed when loved ones 'pull the plug'?

I read of this with mounting horror and then amazement at the resilience of people. To be locked away from others and the way we see and validate ourselves [connection-contact-communication with others] is horrific. Add to this that medical technology pronounces so finally and then closes the door ... I am aghast.

To medical science the man was a severely incapable being who had no hope. In the light of this he awoke and now lives. Medical science must inevitably ask questions of itself and continually reappraise its judgments.
