I think college kids avoid shoprite like the plague...
They usually hit up Whole foods or Trader Joe's in my town.
Crazy waste of money at "Whole Paychecks" type stores.

Maybe to a certain extent. But fresh fruits and veggies were in serious short supply. Especially the more "exotic" stuff.Ahhh.....
People stocking up?
12 bucks/lb? Geezus....Maybe to a certain extent. But fresh fruits and veggies were in serious short supply. Especially the more "exotic" stuff.
Yes, they had some apples, but only a couple of varieties when they usually have a dozen, no bananas, a few tired looking strawberries, out of brussels sprouts and iceberg lettuce, but lots of yellow (no red and only a few white) onions and russet potatoes but no gourmet varieties.
These are all things they normally stock, BTW.
I needed Campbells chicken gumbo soup for a recipe and it was no-where to be found.
Tip roast was $12 per pound but availible.
Selling marked up food to hippies is pretty profitableNot sure how they stay in business

/—-/ My Costco is always crowded. The local supermarkets aren’t unless a storm is coming.I wonder if this is a nationwide trend. Where else do other people get their food?
/——/ Online shopping, Costco, BJ’s, Sam’s Club…The Grocery stores are like morgues today.
ar least the ones I went to.
Mostly ..... old white people.
I noticed overstocked items being marked down
Lots of chicken products in particular.
It occurs to me that this could back up the supply chain.....
We'll see what happens.
