I just saw an episode on Newsmax where a reporter was asking college students if they believe there is American imperialism. If the students answered yes (most did), they were asked to sign a petition to stop it. Quite a few signed the petition.

After signing, the students (apparently victims of heavy indoctrination) were asked to provide an example of where "American imperialism" is going on. now, or over the past 20 years. None were able to respond with a single location.

I wish I would have been that reporter. I would have asked the kids if they knew of the USA being a VICTIM of imperialism. I would have also asked them to provide a definition of "imperialism".

I would have loved to tell these brainwashed students that the US is the #1 VICTIM of imperialism in the world today, and has been for the last 20 years, by the way 21st century imperialism is conducted (migrant remittances).

No doubt the US made mistakes along the way, but we did not slaughter millions in the name of communism or Nazism.

YES we did.
We slaughtered over 3 million innocent Vietnamese over the idiotic label we simply do not understand, "communism".

And yes, the US is the single most Nazi country in the world, by far.
Nazi is short for National Socialist Party, which was totally anti-socialist, and was a oligarchy of the wealthy elite.
That is exactly what the US is, with the same Military Industrial Complex in charge that appointed Hitler.

Right, the "Deep State"

Right, just millions in the name of democracy.

The definition of imperialism doesn't distinguish between what the reason is for it. Just that it is "the policy, practice, or advocacy of extending the power and dominion of a nation especially by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas."

I think your error is in the word "mistake". When they killed millions of people, they committed an atrocity. When we killed millions, it was just a "mistake."

Gotta be a word for that kind of reasoning. Maybe "rationalizing"?

So, in your opinion, the dropping of the nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were just a "mistake" that President Truman made.

Seems kinda convoluted manipulation of emotions to create a false sense of reason to avoid the fact that dead is dead, regardless of the reason.

Isn't that what the guy who beats his wife says afterwards, "It was just a mistake, sweetie".

"Mistakenly" killing someone.....well.... damn.... maybe someone that makes those kinds of mistakes shouldn't be around heavy equipment or knives.

I'm just not seeing your reasoning here.

If you told these students that the USA is the victim of "imperialism", they'd laugh in your face, because you're an idiot.

No, you slaughtered them in the name of "land acquisition". When white Europeans arrived in the Americas, there were estimated to be 10 million Native Americans living here. By 1900, it was estimated there were 300,000 left alive. The Aztecs, the Incas and the Mayans - once great prosperous civilizations, were wiped out in the European greed for gold and precious stones.

There were the Indian Wars, and the Trail of Tears in the USA:

But it was just a 'mistake'. Oops, our bad.

And those who remained in Vietnam, well they are thankful we finally left.

They have a very low crime rate. And considering how wound up you all on the right get over crime you would think that would be a plus.

So, here is the problem with the reasoning.

The first is that it a Newsmax reporter asking questions of college students isn't a unbiased survey. Neither is his report on Newsmax an unbiased reporting. No survey by a news reporter is statistically valid. News outlets sell a product to a viewership. By their very nature, they report what their viewers want to hear about. "Newsmax Media is a conservative American news media organization"

That being what it is, colleges and universities aren't some single entity. They are not all the same. Their staff, professors, and student body all have their own independent views. Nearly every Republican in Congress has a University education, as does nearly every Democrat in Congress. None of them hold exactly the same view. They range on the political spectrum from "far right" to "far left". Even that is not a reasonable measure. A better measure puts them on two axis, economic and social opinions.

The reasoning is cartoonish, trying to divide the world into only two groups.

Though, I do find that there are two groups of people in the world, those that divide the world into two groups of people and those that don't.

"Both sides wanted the same thing: a unified Vietnam. But while Ho and his supporters wanted a nation modeled after other communist countries, Bao and many others wanted a Vietnam with close economic and cultural ties to the West."
What a joke of American exceptionalism. I suppose Eisenhower stopping the promised election because Ho would have won in a landslide is all about the people wanting Bao.

They have a very low crime rate. And considering how wound up you all on the right get over crime you would think that would be a plus.

Hanoi is a nice looking city. I was wondering about their purchasing power parity though. And I always have to ask if the average working person with family really gives a C$#p. There are plenty of people with what we would consider a very poor standard of living that are happy. It has more to do with how much control you feel over your own day to day life.

We could have a low crime rate to, make it non-existent, just by putting a police officer on every street corner. Civil rights abuses might go up a bit though.

We really have the wrong measures and definitions. They are muddled and not mutually exclusive. They are characterized and overused, without any consideration for the details, just emotional terms thrown about.

Yes, they are all wound up over crime. Not where they live, crime in that other city. If they were worried about it in their city, they would be at the city council meetings, not commenting of U.S. Message Board. Their solution seems to be to have a dictatorship, one grand leader. That leads, of course, to the very issue that they are so fervently complaining about. But it would be their dictator, the right dictator, the one that does all the right stuff. Not that other guys dictator.

The problem is, and always has been, the accumulation of power into the hands of too few. And that isn't restricted to any particular form of government. And there is a difference between Socialism with a big S and socialism. The terms get manipulated by political leaders until they lose any real meaning and are just buzz words to rile up their base.

The bottom line is the economic structure and how efficiently that structure is distributing scares resources, including the labor that produces and distributes the rest of it. The political structure is for the purpose of managing that economic structure and because the political structure is made up of people, it is always going to be fallible.

But, as someone said, Democracy is the worst form of government, except for everything else. It at lease make an attempt of distributing power to keep it from accumulating to much into the hands of two few. That is a completely separate entity to how well it implements the social and economic policies that improve the lives of the people that live within it.

Russia attempting to take back Ukraine is a form of imperialism correct ??

China attempting to take back Hong Kong, and the acquisitions of territories is another example of current imperialism correct ??

The Taliban wanting to take back Kabul or Afghanistan is yet another example correct ?

The Palestinians want to take over, and kill the people of Israel is yet another example correct ??

If anything we are a nation that attempts to stop imperialism, and promotes reunification efforts in the world or at least we were until it all got twisted due to this nation being infiltrated by forces or people who think differently than we do correct ??? A huge cleansing of this nation is due, and a reafirmation of our commitments around the world shored up, and a reafirmation of our own commitments here as a nation shored up. Now when I say cleansing, I mean a renewal of the mind's by teaching the children the nation's purpose, and it's proper cultural standard's again, and it's stance against imperialists or Marxist communist thinking here. We must re-affirm Martin Luther King's word's of wisdom concerning how to address racism by not looking at a person's skin color, but looking at a person's action's and character in order to judge a person correctly as to who they are, and what their worth is as a human being. If a bad person, then of course their worth is judged correctly by one's action's and character that tells us these things. No way to go wrong by this, but doing so by skin color is thee most ridiculous bullcrap this nation has ever engaged in, and sadly we have some of all color's still using this method of judgement.

The universities believe that apple pie is a racist colonial power.

So, by your reckoning, 95% of the US Congress have been indoctrinated by these evil bastions of advanced education?

The Congressional Research Service notes that the vast majority of Members (95 percent) had an academic degree:

  • 168 Representatives and 57 Senators had a law degree. Of these, five (three Representative and two Senators) also hold a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree.
  • 83 Representatives and 16 Senators earned a master's degree – often a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) – as their highest educational degree
  • 27 Representatives and one Senator (Mark Begich)[18] have no educational degree beyond a high school diploma.
  • 23 Representatives, & one Senator (Kyrsten Sinema) have a PhD
  • 17 Representatives and three Senators have a medical degree (this number includes one Senator with a veterinary medicine degree and one Representative with a dental degree).
  • Five Representatives (but no Senators) have an associate's degree as their highest degree. One House Member has a licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.) degree.
Three Representatives (John Shimkus, Geoff Davis, Brett Guthrie) and one Senator (Jack Reed) are graduates of the United States Military Academy, while two Senators (John McCain, Jim Webb) and one Representative (Joe Sestak) are graduates of the United States Naval Academy. Three Senators (including Russ Feingold and Richard Lugar) and two Representatives (Jim Cooper and Jim Himes) were Rhodes Scholars, three Representatives (Tom Cole and Gabby Giffords) were Fulbright Scholars, and one Representative (John Spratt) was a Marshall Scholar. Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona is widely considered to be the most educated member of congress with a Bachelor's degree, a Master of Social Work, a Master of Business Administration, a law degree, & a PhD

I take it you don't have a college degree.

Yes, but some, like myself and my family are wise enough to think for ourselves and avoid the indoctrination. Most aren’t.

So you are against these guy's whom sadly for you at this point in time, make up the majority of this nation. So what's your overall plan to overthrow these patriot's who passionately believe that their their nation is under siege or under attack by various anti-American forces within now ???

So I ask in accordance with the numbers, who are the imperialists here, you or them ?? They are just protecting what they've had here for the last 200+years, while you on the other hand are attempting to overthrow what was created here over the last 200+years.

The FBI and the CIA are now doing exactly the same thing everyday under the cloak of secrecy and the clearly disproven, premise that they are neutral. They were armed by the Obama administration. Biden is now trying to do the same thing to the top brass in the military. When the general public speaks out, the indoctrinated folks stand up for these entities because most are simply incapble of seeing their bias.

This is how it starts and this is how it ends in countries that fall from power. We can say “I told you so” until we are blue in the face but it won’t matter. Don’t kid yourself with regards to educational indoctrination toward progressivism. It is real and it is clearly, undeniably biased. Democrats don’t break rank very often and indoctrinated folks hardly ever. It takes a truly wise person to step away from the pre-conceptions they have been taught since grade school(soon to be pre-school) and think for themselves. Very few have this ability, thus why teaching/indoctrinating from grade school is a tactic used by every oppressive regime in the world.

Yes, but some, like myself and my family are wise enough to think for ourselves and avoid the indoctrination. Most aren’t.
Sadly they've successfully made million's of Americans poor and dependent, and that's where they are doing their most evil work's to transfer the nation through public school indoctrination that is being run by specific ideological proponents of their master plans. Not being able to free one's selves from the grip ensures the children's mental transformation, and their future free from the American traditions that were built on Christian thinking, and the truth found in these thinking's.

Christian patriot's, and their beliefs and thinking has worked to build a strong nation over the many year's, because it stood on the foundations of Christ teaching's, and the word of God.

Straying from this is already showing our folly big time, and we are losing fast.

No of course we aren't perfect, and the Lord said that we aren't, and so this is why our good percentages of attempting to be good, has therefore carried us through, and it has helped us to improve constantly as we thrive to do better and better in his sight.

We will never be perfect as humans in our current state, but he gave us an instructional booklet that helps us through. The whole world has the word, although it is interpreted differently around the world, yet the same outcomes are attempted to be obtained in which are peace and hope in everything that is done. Yes, we all fall short of the glory, but we must never give up seeking to one day be reunited with our heavenly father, and to one day be free from the grip of sin in our lives.

Understand communism? Look at Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot etc. the Nazis were a one party state, the US is not, barring the deep state in DC. Take a hike.

Right, the "Deep State"

These guys.

The ones that invaded the U.S. Capitol building, the seat of Democracy of the U.S. Government.

Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. were left wing authoritarian dictators. Hilter, Marcos, Noriega, are right wing authoritarian dictators. The are the flips sides of the same coin.

Authoritarianism can only survive by the oppression of all opposition. That’s true of authoritarians on either side of the political spectrum.

It’s why Donald Trump spent his entire term trying and failing to “trump” up charges against Clinton, Obama, Biden, and to jail Democratic Party leadership, and attack the MSM which continued to criticize him.

All of those regimes indoctrinated their youth via education. Are you here to say that you don't’ think public schools and universities are indoctrinating? Let me guess, they are just telling the “truth” in your mind.

You picking and choosing your preferred dictator's by degree above is laughable, and uhhh actually is you being an idiot that the class should be yelling to you right about now "hey sit down dummy", and let smarter people talk so we aren't here all day... LOL.

Their are dictator's who seem kinder in comparisons, but all that you mentioned are bad, and it matters not how they attempted to fall up under their various cover's, they still were bad. No one in America liked or followed these dictator's, and in fact were proponents of their removals, but you attempt to make Link's ??? Rotflmbo.

I will say this though, that because of the splitting of this nation by the likes of Obama, Clinton's or the other's you mentioned, it could very well be that sadly it is having the affect of making people scratch their heads and say hmmmmmm over who they think is friend or foe these days or who is actually wrong, and who is actually right.

So with all leader's you have their unexceptable radical side's, and then their more moderate and excepted sides. The balance is recognizing that when the bad side outweighs their good sides, then it is therefore fool hearted to follow them, and it is ignorant as well. Trump was more good than bad, but of course it depends on one's perspective of these things. If one is indoctrinated not to recognize the balance, then one won't be able to recognize the balance, and therefore will end up being proved wrong by their choices made. The sad thing is by this catering or patience in letting the ignorant be ignorant, it causes bad things to happen to all in America until corrections are once again made. We are in dangerous waters again now, and hopefully the nation survives it.
