Do you believe in Hell for the unrepentant?

The lives of people who suffer egregiously at the hands of.. whomever.. tend to prove Hell if the Bible does not convince you. I have read stories of horrendous child abuse and then the abused goes on to suffer at the hands of others who also abuse.. girls molested as a child getting involved later w/ abusive husbands, etc..

Then there is all the evil inflicted upon us by "insane" people "running things" in the gvt. And sometimes, frankly, it seems God does not care about these victims of evil

until He does.. I say He takes them to Heaven and then... What does He do about all the evil doers? Those of us who believe Scripture rarely doubt the existence of Hell.

OK, I tried to fix this error in the poll questions but couldn't

It should read

No (elite dims do NOT prove there has to be)

NO. I do not believe Hell exists at all, except maybe the hell we create for ourselves or others push us into. If there's any justice at all in this universe, evildoers should have to come back in another life as a victim, as in what goes around comes around. Karma!

so you are a Buddhist or... whoever those people are who believe in reincarnation?

Krishnas?

I guess Jesus is not a reliable source for you? He never said a thing about anyone coming back after death

I think that reincarnation and karma are just as possible as any other concept of an afterlife. It's not like anybody really knows the truth, right?

I believe in the lessons that Jesus taught, but I am not a Christian and do not believe he was The Son of God. I think he was A Son of God (or Daughter) just like the rest of us. And as far as life after death, I believe there are many references in the New Testament to souls that survive death and go to Heaven or Hell as the case may be. Who is to say that "Hell" may actually be another life on Earth where you 'reap the whirlwind'?

I believe in hell in some form or another. If one believes in a soul I have to think that the belief in a heaven and/or is most logical or else what does the soul represent?

As such, we will all be judged accordingly.

I absolutely believe in a hell

When you have experienced true evil in this world, what other option is there?

Are you referring to the victims or the perpetrators? I hope you are referring to the Nazis, just showing an image of historic atrocities doesn't clarify.

Also, there are various degrees of sin, but they are sins or evil intent nonetheless.

Some people engage in crimes against humanity and systemic murder, others murder only one person, still others encourage harm or intentionally create the conditions for someone to be driven to murder etc.

All of them will be judged accordingly as far as I am concerned, souls are as much a part of us as our DNA.

The poll is useless.

But for whatever it’s worth, I can’t imagine a divine Creator of everything creating any kind of eternal hell as a punishment for “sins” committed in a mere human lifetime.

I am unable to believe in “hell.”
so you have never been the victim of an egregious crime? And maybe the perp got away with it (in this life anyhow)?

well, consider yourself lucky. .. or may unlucky.. since you don't seem to understand how evil evil really is

I am referring to experiencing true evil.

Unless you look into the cold eyes of monsters that are incapable of reason or civility and feel their inhumanity, you just don't get it.

Is Hitler and his socialist goons really going to be in heaven?

LOL.

a huge AMEN to this!

It is so easy for those who have never themselves been the victim of diabolical evil to be flip about Hell or dismiss it altogether..

Then you look @ those kind of photos and... I mean.. yeh.. you look @ a photo of aborted babies in trash cans..

And there is no punishment for that?

I guess Jesus was just blathering away in a moment of levity when He spoke of eternal punishment in Mt 25:31 and other passages?

That Jesus.. always going to extremes just like his followers..

Well, He said He is God

Is He God or was He a liar?

Everyone has to answer that Q for himself

I am wondering if you have..? If you don't want to talk about, I totally u/stand

If you have, you are not alone, by a long shot. I have had what often feels like WAY more than my share of "human" evil... but it is really demonic evil (using human beings..)

You don't have to experience it to understand, just observe.

But yes, at times I have felt as though I were staring into someone's eyes like staring into the pit of hell itself as the very hairs on your neck stand to attention.

Erroneous conclusion.

I believe in God. I do not believe that God believes in religion. I also don’t accept the notion that God could possibly be so unjust as to send an offender to a place like Hell for the rest of all eternity for some “sins” committed in a mere human lifetime.

I also don’t believe any justice system can be fair if it sends a person to jail for one instance of petty shoplifting. Disproportionate sentences of jail or prison for fairly minor crimes and for first time offenders is not my notion of “justice.”

Now let’s compound it. It is a sin to steal. A sinner sins by stealing a candy bar from a small shop owner” candy display case. If caught, he gets prosecuted and is found guilty and gets sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. Not just a prison sentence but a lifetime sentence of imprisonment. I’d call that incredibly unjust.

How does an eternity in hell for some sins committed during a person’s brief lifetime compare?

The hell that men unleash on earth, God will not allow them to unleash it in heaven

What do you do with them?

Of course not. Using the most egregious of acts doesn't excuse lesser acts though. Not in the bible.

I can't speak for God but I imagine he isn't going to say:

"you know Callahan, you were a really bad human being, you did great harm to others, ruined countless lives with your deception and exploitation. You profited off of the misery of others through your lies, without any remorse and then tried to deceive me, your Father, on your deathbed after a life of lies. But hey. you're not as bad as those German officers so I guess you're in!"
