This is a fascinating idea. For example near death experiencer Bruce F. MacDonald Ph. D. was promised that this was going to be his last incarnation as a mere human but he was also shown many of his past lives. He also was shown Messiah Yeshua - Jesus teaching His disciples the truly big subjects and questions.

His book really astonished me because he was shown the truly Huge picture of our human lives plus the afterlife. Our agreement to reincarnate is indeed a terrible and dangerous error!?

True... there is no word "Purgatory" in the Bible but the near death experience of former Atheist Howard Storm where his body is healed and he is sent back with a message for all humans in 1985, does sound somewhat like the idea of Jesus having the power to resurrect the dead, and then send the dead back with a message.
