Proposed Iran-U.S. deal would reopen Hormuz strait and lift oil sanctions, Iran state media says
The U.S. and Iran could reportedly sign a peace deal as soon as Sunday, after Iranian state media said the draft deal included a commitment from the U.S. to lift oil sanctions and a commitment from Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days.
The 14-point document dictates that final negotiations will not begin until the release of half of Iran’s frozen funds, the suspension of Iran’s oil sanctions, and the lifting of the naval blockade, the Mehr News Agency reported.
All American forces would need to withdraw from Iran, and the U.S. and its allies, would need to present reconstruction plans for Iran worth at least $300 billion, according to the report.
A peace deal could be signed in Switzerland as soon as Sunday, Bloomberg reported later on Friday, citing people familiar with the plans. It comes as world leaders gather for the G7 summit, which runs from June 15 to June 17 in Evian, in the French Alps.
"They better get their act together, and FAST!" President Donald Trump said of Iran one day after announcing that a deal would be finalized within days.

Call me crazy, but that doesn't look like 'unconditional surrender' to me.
Trump demands 'unconditional surrender' from Iran as Putin speaks with Iran's president
The president also calls on Tehran to pick new leaders who are "acceptable" to the White House after six days of war.

Under the proposal Iran is getting half of its frozen assets back plus $300B to fix the damage done to it by the US and Israel. What does the US get
FOR THE BILLIONS IT SPENT, THE LIVES LOST, AND THE SOLDIERS INJURED other than an agreement to go back to the status quo of having the Strait open to ships passing through it? You know, the way things were before Don and Bibi got out over their skis.
I'm sure I don't have to remind everyone how critical trump was of the JCPOA, calling it a horrible deal. A deal that also called for the unfreezing of Iranian assets so Iran, in the words of its critics, could fund regional terrorism.
So, how are you guys feeling about this epic failure?
The caveat to this thread being we've reportedly been close to a deal before. 38 times according to Don. So let's not count our chickens..........
