Yesterday hope sprang eternal for an agreement.

Trump repeats claims that Iran deal is only ‘days’ away, despite recent strikes

U.S. President Donald Trump repeated the claim that a deal to end the war in Iran could be reached in “two or three days,” and that the critical Strait of Hormuz would reopen “immediately” after such a deal.

Speaking to reporters after attending Monday’s NBA Finals in New York, Trump said that the two parties are in the final stages of a “very, very good deal that will not in any way allow nuclear weapons.”

Sky News Arabia reported Monday that a draft agreement had been sent to the U.S. for review and that it is “preliminarily acceptable” to the White House.

24 hours later..........

Trump says Iran will ‘pay the price’ and claims they have ‘taken too long’ to agree to a deal

Inconsistent, contradictory statements coming so close to each other on something as consequential as the conflict with Iran creates a disturbing amount of uncertainty and global instability. Especially with reserve stockpiles of oil around the world being at historic lows. Not to mention the fact that it creates tremendous market volatility both with stocks and the price of oil.

OTOH, if you knew ahead of time what statements were going to be made regarding the war you could make a lot of money. Or if you knew about what government contracts were going to be given to what companies you could profit from it bigly. Not that trump would ever do anything like that. ;)

AI Overview

Donald Trump has claimed that a deal with Iran is imminent or close to being finalized at least 38 times since the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict in 2026.

Is this a sign of confusion, being overly optimistic, inaccurate briefings, not paying attention to briefings, dementia, making things up, ignorance, an inability to shut up? Is this any way to run a country?
Trump has no idea what he's doing.

Trump pledges more Iran strikes, saying U.S. will be ‘attacking them very hard’

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the U.S. would hit Iran “very hard” again, escalating his public threats as he pressed Tehran to sign a deal.

“We hit them hard yesterday, and we’re going to hit them hard again today,” Trump said at a White House signing event for the Secure America Act. “We’re going to be attacking them and attacking them very hard.”

Trump said Iran “should sign the deal” and said that the U.S. wants an agreement “that’s meaningful and works.”

“We’ll see what happens with the deal,” Trump said.

The comments come after Trump warned on Truth Social that Iran had taken too long to negotiate and would “pay the price” amid escalating military tensions between Washington and Tehran.

True to his word, he doesn't care about what consumers pay for gas or food. He has more important things to spend his time on.
