Zone1 Do Christians Proselytize out of “Love” - or Arrogance?

Jesus was viewed as no more than a common criminal at the time - a rabble rouser if you will. That’s why he was crucified along two nobodies. It was exceedingly common for Romans to kill their criminals and others this way - Jesus was one of thousands.
there is no question in my mind that Jesus was
killed---as a pharisee---for his foray into the Temple Court yard and the attack on the money changers.
The money changers were ROMAN SHILLS----just
as was MATTHEW and the Pharisees despised them.

Why do you think the moneychangers we're Romans? What possible interest would Rome have in turning Roman coins into shekels?

He was MOST LIKELY CRUCIFIED----as it is so
recorded in the Nicean Council book---"the new
testament" Historically the Roman governor
Pontius Pilate is credited with having crucified
from 10,000 to 20,000 Jews---generally pharisees --
like Jesus. Therefore it is logical to assume that
Pilate also had Jesus crucified ----circumstantial
evidence which is credible. There is at this time
no archaeological evidence of that crucifixion,
so suradie can insist that it never happened.
You responded---sorta---but failed to ID any of
the Pharisees who took part in that crucifixion.
An important feature of the crucifixion is that Jesus
was interred in the family vault of a prominent
PHARISEE family----according to the New
Testament account
So you believe Jesus was a Pharisee?

at no time did I suggest that the money changers
were ROMANS-----I said SHILLS----to be specific
SHILLS for the ROMANS. The temple court yard at
that time was a trading post under the control of
roman FINANCIAL INTERESTS ----they were the guys
with their hands in every pot----the sites of trade were the city gates and the Temple courtyard-----anathema to the pharisees, The coin changed
included all sorts of foreign tender---not just Roman

norwegen

The Saducees controlled the temple.. maybe the moneychangers we're Edomites.

Proselytizing of any kind is based in arrogance and a lack of understanding or respect of people with differing beliefs.

Roman coin was the currency of the Roman empire so most was Roman .

Really? Seems to me that forcing them to convert was a huge blunder.

I doubt it----that forcing thing seems to me to
be overstated. Taking up the religion and
culture and language of the
rulers was dereguere in those days and ---it is
possible---I am not sure---that the edomites
agreed that they were related to Isaac----at least
lots of them did. There was, clearly, left over
animosity----kinda like the Irish do not consider
themselves BRITS. The edomites probably got
themselves absorbed into OTHER cultures too

John Hyrcanus forcibly converted them to Judaism. They were descended from Esau.
