Disney scraps plans for new Florida campus, mass employee relocation amid DeSantis feud

Greenville is a top visitor city, I guess you went through Columbia or Charleston. The liberal shitholes. I hope your boy gives you some tonight, might settle you down a bit! Lol, I live in the country and loving it.
No, read what I wrote. Entering South Carolina on I-20 from Augusta, GA. That's the Aiken area.

You are one stupid ignorant shit. Those 2,000 jobs, they weren't character performers, they were mid and upper level management, almost everyone paying more than your sorry ass draws from disability.
Transferred from CA, dumbfuck. The jobs are lost in one place and moved to another--no loss no gain regardless of what level they are. ESAD

A little more complicated than that. It was the parks, experiences and imagineering teams that were moving. They'd finished their Disney Starwars Experience work in Anaheim and were transferring to Orlando for a massive expansion of rides and upgrade of Disney properties to the tune of about $17 billion dollars over the next 10 years.

Or were before Ron's ego cost the state of Florida again.

You don't get to decide who gets to have 1st amendment rights and who doesn't. That's not how free speech works.

And using the the power of the State to punish and suppress political speech is anathema to the the entire concept of free speech. In addition to being a flagrant 1st amendment violation.

But its perfectly compatible with conservative values....and what they want to export to the rest of the country.

No thank you.
So how did it work when the government had social media shut down free speech regarding COVID and Hunters laptop?

You continue to insist this is about The 1st Amendment, which couldn't be further from the truth.

The issue at question is Disney's insistence on special privileges that other companies and individuals in the state don't enjoy.

There are enough self-important entitled Prog speaking yahoos with their bullhorns spewing crazy agendas that are slowly backfiring on us all. And of course, in the field of equality, they are of equity and are the more equal of the great socialist system we are moving to.
And yet you STILL avoid admitting the obvious.

Good high paying jobs for mickey mouse impersonators? Did Mickeyworld really have plans or is this some bullshit mouseworld fed to left wing blogs? All DeSantis did was to take away Dizworld's insane status as an independent state (country?) within the state of Florida and now the park claims it's going to cut it's own economic throat to punish the state they are in? This is crazy.
Is your assertion that they were impersonators?

What an ignorant statement.

2,000 jobs is a tiny price to pay for State sovereignty in connection with abiding by The Law...

2,.000 jobs is a tiny price to pay to shove the the Little Woke Wankers back into the closet...

2,000 jobs is a tiny price to pay to *****-slap a Large Woke Corporation and put them in their place...

Florida has the Good Winter Weather that allows them to host legions of northern and midwestern tourist families during the cold months each year...

If I was a Disney stockholder I would tell their management and board to shut-the-phukk-up, make nice with the State of Florida, and earn me some money.
Finally, someone that is actually willing to say it.

And now its Disney's turn. 2,000 jobs by by.

Disney has abandoned plans to open up a new employee campus in Lake Nona, Florida, amid rising tensions with the state's governor.
Citing "changing business conditions" and the return of CEO Bob Iger, Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney's parks, experiences and products division, penned a memo to employees Thursday, announcing that the company will not move forward with construction of the campus and will no longer be asking more than 2,000 California-based employees to relocate to Florida.

That's good news. No one wants californicators infecting their state.

The state just lost out on a billion dollars worth of construction and more than 2000 jobs of people making more than 100 grand each that would be spending that money in Florida.
But is it really worth it when it would bring more gay tourists?

It is just the beginning of the results of desantis temper tantrum war. Let's see:

Construction and agricultural projects are shutting down because desantis is pushing migrants out of the state.

Disney is closing down a high end motel in September

Teachers are leaving the state because desantis is threatening them with legal action if they teach anything he does not approve

Colleges and Universities in the state are afraid they will be the next victim of the desantus morality squad

Florida and Disney are one, now.

What will become of Florida without Disney? Back to being a swamp?

" Disney has created thousands of indirect jobs, brings around 50 million visitors to Florida every year and is the state's largest taxpayer."

n Orlando alone, more than 300,000 people lived in the city when Walt Disney World opened. Now, it is home to more than 2 million residents. What’s more, in 2019, the economic impact from the tourism industry in Orlando resulted in more than $73 billion in "business sales impact" for 17 sectors of the city’s economy, according to the Orlando Business Journal. While additional attractions have arrived in the area following the opening of Walt Disney World, its four theme parks continue to generate the most revenue and visitors in the area.

The ripple effects from Walt Disney World Resorts are undoubtedly felt across Florida, including Miami, Horenstein added. Through South Florida's international airport and the robust tourism industry itself, people visiting Disney historically pass through Miami and engage in economic activity.

However, Disney is also not going anywhere. The hard fact is that the state cannot be unfriendly enough to make Disney move the park. The cost os such simply makes it impossible.
