Donald Trump ended all immigration into the USA, and refused to allow anyone in on the Southern Border. The system he created was illegal, cruel, and expensive, and it failed miserably. Illegal immigration increased in every year Trump was in office, except for 2020, when it dropped due to the pandemic.

The Southern Border has been in a state of National Emergency which Trump declared in 2019, when illegal immigration surged in 2018 when he started "shutting down the Southern Border" - 2 full years after he took office, and it only increased AFTER he declared the emergency.

He was holding more than 40,000 illegal immigrants in federal custody, without deporting them or giving them due process.
