The "40 years of social justice engineering" of which you speak, just happens to coincide with a very hard swing to the right taken by the entire country on the heels of the election of Ronald Reagan, and that is when the right started portraying minorities as "welfare queens", as social programs which helped lift generations of poor inner city minorities out of poverty as "free stuff".

Sadly for you fools, these tired old lines don't work 40 years on when you have generations of middle class black folk getting harassed by the police every time they don't leave the house wearing a suit and tie. And generations of white suburbanites who have been falsely taught to be believe that all black people are dangerous armed criminals who hate white people.

People are sick and tired of telling themselves that police forces shooting and killing 1000 people a year is just fine. Cities paying out "excessive force claims" in excess of $250 million annually is just fine, and that the police state Republicans have created for minorities is necessary for the safety and security of white people.

The pandemic has broken down society into two classes of people: those whose lives matter, and those who are "essential workers" whose lives matter less, but whose work is necessary for the "important people" to survive. If their work is so "essential" to our way of life, why do they pay so little?

This isn't happening in the rest of the first world, where the working class is paid a living wage and has government funded health care, unemployment insurance, and sick leave. All the things American workers don't have.

Liberals/leftist that attempt to deny that liberal social policies were wholly destructive to the black race, are no different than the flat earthers still denying the world is a globe.
It is beyond obvious. You take ANY group of people, pack them in like sardines, segregate them away from the rest of society, give them just enough money to survive and then somehow claim that is going to solve black poverty. It is so stupid, that indeed it MUST have been designed to do exactly what it did - create long-term segregation carefully masked as charity.

A young black man minding his own business that has never harmed anyone gets the police called on him while doing absolutely nothing illegal and then gets jumped by those cops and drugged against his wishes is very much being a victim.

OMG stop with the stupid----Welfare has lead to more poverty. Welfare has not lifted people out of poverty--it has actually 1) encouraged the lowest iq and laziest among us to have more and more children putting more and more people into poverty and 2) served as a beacon for the worlds moochers to come to the US to get on welfare creating more in the US as well. The numbers living in poverty have gone up not down with welfare. Anything the government subsides cause more of it...with the government subsidizing being poor the number of poor has grown. Welfare was supposed to be a safety net not way of life and thusly needs heavy reforms limiting the number of kids and the number of years one can be on it. This would discourage idiots from having so many kids that the will never get out of poverty and force them to take better care of the fewer kids leading to drops in crimes and future poverty of their kids.

Black folks aren't being harass for not wearing a suit and tie----------criminals are being arrested for committing crimes-often very violent crimes with idiots trying attack cops for keeping everyone including other blacks safe. Screw the criminals. NO there shouldn't be over $250 million in payouts to criminals being shot by cops----we need court reforms to end this. We should be making sure that no pay out ever goes to any criminals or their families when a cop is forced to shoot one of them for committing crimes or resisting arrest. Tort reform is certainly needed. As we can see by the jump in crime against blacks---when the police aren't to allow to stop criminals especially violent black ones, murders of black innocent people including kids and others jumps up. No one needs the cops arresting criminals --more than the black communities do for their own safety.

Criminal lives don't matter. Want to be paid more, IF you actually work, get better job skills---working at McD's might be classified as important but it doesn't mean that you should be overpaid.

What isn't happening in the rest of world l? Pandemic is happening hence the term pandemic-------or JObs and poverty----idiot our standard of living is higher even among our supposed really poor than the rest of world hence so many wanting to come to America.....we also had and still have one of the best economies in the world for those willing to work instead of collecting welfare like you are.

They have to. The Democrat party has been taken over by the 1960 radicals. The Democrat party has been taken over by Marxists, those who only seek power.

The Democrat party has no place in the World. It can only exist as a dictatorship.

Nice try but you are sadly under-educated. The social engineering we speak of began with The New Deal. Not with Reagan.

Poor inner city minorities? Hmm? Why are they still poor 40 years later. How come there are more poor today than there ever was? How come after 40 years there are still poor people. The answer is simple, joe biden and the democrats have no solutions. It is because the democrats use the poor to retain power. The democrats strategy has always been to have poor people in the USA that are dependent on democrats.

Democrats do not help anyone, capitalism does, but not democrats. democrats have no place in this world.

Your inner cities run by Democrats for 40 years are crumbling and the culture is heathen and barbaric. Good job, Demonrats.

You are devoid of reality...

All welfare did was make the fathers of these children leave them and create single parent households so that the state could be the giver of their existence. All you did was destroy the families, make them dependent on the state and trap them into a voting block that had no hope and feared that their next hand out would be taken from them.

You ruled by fear! Now Trump is getting these people jobs and a path out of poverty and you all are screaming. Trump is giving them back the nuclear family as an option, so fathers can stay with their children and give them a fighting chance and you hate him for it..

Do you people not see what a fucked up mess you created by LBJ's great society?

No you can't.

In 2016, a reported 12,404 stops were made under the stop-and-frisk program. The stop-and-frisk program has previously taken place on a much wider scale. Between 2003 and 2013, over 100,000 stops were made per year, with 685,724 people being stopped at the height of the program in 2011. The program became the subject of a racial profiling controversy. Ninety percent of those stopped in 2017 were African-American or Latino, mostly aged 14–24.

And the guy will spend many years if not the rest of his life in prison.

See the difference?

Gee, I guess this guy didn't get the memo the Bkack lives matter. You don't get it. This is happening all over the nation, blacks shooting each other every day, while you idiots preach to us and you ignore the reality that Black lives really don't matter to many Black people.

That was a great program that worked.
You realize that prior to Guiliani, one of the absolute greatest mayors in NYC history, that NYC was a cesspool of crime. Both organized and urban street crime were very bad. Programs like stop and frisk worked. Crime rates in NYC plummeted.
Now you take two liberals, governor Cuomo and mayor Blasio... and whalaa... crime is rising fast.
