Current event: The tone of American anger that Could be Foretelling a Near Future Attempt at a Fascist Coup.

Late last week. Tucker Carlson thanked a guest he invited on his show who said that Republicans will vote in a fascist soon, and Tucker's response was along the lines of "very well said" and "I hope you come back."

Eerily similar to Trump's blowing kisses and expressions of love to the Capitol attackers on January 6th.
Liar.

Trump told them he loved them.. and that they were special.

Oddball
Trump said he loved them on national television.. Why deny it? Are you suddenly ashamed of what Trump said and did?
In the context of loving everyone.

Lies of omission are still lies, liar.

Look to history.

When people are their most frightened, their most paranoid, and their most frustrated, the right kind of person can swoop in and play to all of that. He will have a knack for speaking only to them and in their language That creates a bond with his followers that can only be broken by the worst of outcomes. He and they are the good victims, the others are the evil monsters.

That's exactly what we have right now. These people think they're patriots engaged in a holy war. And they're more than willing to at least threaten to use their guns and ammo.

"History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme".

Exactly and well said! Looking to history is what I've done and so the questions are being answered here on this thread much more quickly than I would have expected.

But one of the biggest questions is still on whether the hate, vitriol, and extremism is real or just isolated extremism that represents the views of a few on this forum?

They have proven there is a potential of choosing fascism as a remedy, in spades! Are they just a few crazies or are they the real thing?

I very highly suspect that Trump is the real thing (a would be fascist leader) but do any of his followers even understand that much?
Trump's followers have been maligned and accused of being racist by extremists in the Democrat/Communist Party.
Since Jan 6th.....they have decided that they finally have a Pearl Harbor.....a 911....a Custers Last Stand that they can rally around. You, and people like you, have turned the actual victims in all of this into the enemy.

Nothing pisses off an innocent man more than being falsely accused by a scumbag.

Holy shit.. Now you're all victims just like Trump.

The rub is Trump was thanking supporters....not rioters. Clearly many of those rioters weren't his supporters.
But don't let the truth get in the way of passing along a major league fib.

There's great truth and significance in what you say because Trump was at least somewhat successful in bringing America's working class people together against America's corrupt government.

It's a point I've tried to make several times on this forum but now you've made the point for me, due to you being careless about what you say.

Fascism will require the support of the majority of America's working class people and will not allow partisan D/R politics to get in the way.
Does it scare you just a little to get it so right?
Scaring Americans is one of the main purposes of this topic!

What else can one call someone who is innocent?

Fuck you, liar.

Even that comment is a worthy contribution to this topic because it's illustrative of the general tone of hate in America today.
Can you add something to substantiate the racism too?
Says the asshole who goes Godwin at the drop of a hat.

GFY, sanctimonious twit.

Either defend Trump or denounce him but don't lie about that he's said in public on video.

What they understand isn't the problem. It's what they're willing to believe and act upon.

I'm afraid that 2016 showed us that it's not limited to just a small fringe. It appears that somewhere between 30% and 40% of this country has wanted this all along. They've been telling us all these years that they're just mainstream conservatives, but now we know better.

That group is divided into two sub-groups: Those who literally think they're patriots in a holy war (many of them here, obviously), and those who won't actually participate but will enable it by choosing to turn a blind eye to it. Both groups are dangerous.

We've seen that before in world history, too.

Nope.....that's your job.
Repeating lies about what he said.

Fwiw, nearly all the comments being posted on this thread are contributing to helping to answer my questions posed in the OP.

I may be missing some of the best of them that are directly on target, but please keep repeating the most important points. The traffic will slow in a while and that will allow us to get down to being more detailed and specific.

For now, a huge point has at least been established on 'communism' being the sworn enemy of 'fascism'!
Maybe we have successfully escaped the ignorant spammers who usually insist that communism is fascism.

Trump can't claim to be innocent when he's sent out a thousand tweets and recorded miles of TV appearances.

No.....socialism is fascism....which leads to communism.

If either xiden, or the communist demonRATS party on behalf of xiden are going to make another attempt against America's democracy, the people will have to be clearly directed to seeing that some minority or minorities are to blame.

Currently the media is doing their job to broadcast the Floyd trial while lying about Georgia's new election laws.

It happened in Nazi Germany and arguably the people were much more politically sophisticated thinkers than present day Americans who have turned to Trump.

But still, would it still be a significant number of Americans if it becomes a serious attempt to overthrow democracy. Or has the threat already been defeated?

In my opinion, Biden doesn't represent the sort of power in leadership to defeat a fascist coup attempt on America's government.

Yet still, can Trump be seen as anything other than a joke and a failure?
Can his would be reolutionaries with their feet up on desks be seen as loyal support that could be imagined to be of the determination and capability of Che or Fidel?

Currently the media is doing their job to broadcast the Floyd trial while lying about Georgia's new election laws.

The George Floyd topic doesn't belong on this thread, but your pure expressions of racism do.

America's racism has created the perfect storm needed for the introducing of a possibility that fascism has your answers.

The fight going on in Georgia is very much on target here! Let's frame that as the fight between communist takeover of their politics, being opposed by fascist attempts to steal a future election.

And most of all, so indicative of the sickness in America today!

The expressions of anger, racism, and not so cleverly concealed expressions of gun violence on this forum might be taken seriously or it might just be put off to a few extremists looking for attention and solace following the defeat of Trump. Something bad is happening in America today, be it as bad as some predict or be it just anger and frustration of the few. Now is the time to expose it for 'whatever' it really is!

Expressing hate for minorities, be they black people, Slovenians, or Jews, early attempts at installing a fascist regime are always consistent.
The 'downtrodden' people's feelings are directed at the country's minorities as being the reason why their country is leaving the ordinary working person in poverty.

If either Trump, or the Republican party on behalf of Trump are going to make another attempt against America's democracy, the people will have to be clearly directed to seeing that some minority or minorities are to blame.

Americans will see huge increases in racism and gun related violence to compliment the violence as the time for the fascist attempted takeover draws nearer.

Are ordinary Americans hurting enough yet to justify in their minds more drastic measures be taken to stop black people from gaining anything resembling equality?

That which was possible to turn the people of 1930's Germany may not be any worse situation for them than it is for Americans today.

Were Germans or Italians less educated and less sophisticated then today's American people?
Just the opposite seems to be true.

The tone of the extremists posting on this forum is revealing, although it might be argued that they don't represent very many Americans.

I really don't care what you think belongs in this thread.
It's all related to the topic.

Fact: Institutional Racism is being used to create the racist storm you say is coming......hopefully creating you might add.
That it the primary goal here.
The fact that I can recognize it should be evident.....and obviously why you want to distract from it.
You are playing your part in the deception.
But the fact that we're wise to your tricks cannot be ignored....even by idiots that think like you.

That's very difficult to say. Jan 6 changed some things. It took right wing domestic terrorism from the fringe to the forefront, and now they've got the attention of the law. That won't eliminate their support, but my guess is that only the more hardcore American jihadis are willing to see this through. I guess the question is how many of those people exist. My guess is that there's more than we might think.

Good one! Blatant hate being expressed against China as well as accusations of the encroaching 'communism' that needs to be invented as th enemy of the change that is needed. The change to fascism that you so clearly promote now.
