Any Registered Voter(18-Years Old or Older) can be a Poll Worker. There is a class or classes involved for which they are paid. Age, Race, Religious Practice, Ethnic Background and Economic Status do not matter.

Do Students (Who Must Be A Registered Voter Over the Age of 18), Senior/Retired Individual and individuals on Welfare work the Polls...hell yes. They have as much right to work the polls as any other REGISTERED VOTER.

Employers on the whole are loathe of give their employees a day off to work the Polls, much less take time off the class or classes need to be a Poll Worker.

Poll Workers have a long day. Arriving anywhere from one half hour to one hour before Polls Open. In California Polls Open at 7:00 AM and Polls Close at 8:00 PM.

In my state, the people that verify signatures are trained in signature verification and they do not just check that it matches the address. The electronic signature scanners compare the signature on the envelope to the signature on file with the registrar and the signature last used in voting. If the scanner can not match the signature of the voter, it will be kicked out for research by a signature specialist. This will include comparing the envelope signature to signatures used on all previous voting available. In some states the DMV files are also available. If the signature characterizes including pressure, pen lifts, speed and direction of pen strokes do not have an 80% score, the ballot will be marked provision and an attempt will be made to contact the voter. Generally a person signing the envelope fraudulently without a copy of the voter's signature in front of them will score less than 10. A person that has a copy of the voters signature has a chance of less than 1 in 10 of passing the signature validation. Studies have shown that signature validation in an election office is generally better than the id validation or signature validation at polling places.

That may be your state, but not others. As my link pointed out, states do not match signatures with those on file.

In my state, all elections are by mail, so we were not faced with doing anything different than we normally do. All ballot signatures are checked and voters are contacted if the signature does not match. We purge voting rolls continuous based on change of addresses from the post office, returned ballots which can not be forwarded, DMV changes, and reported deaths. Every ballot has a control number that has to be removes from the ballot before mailing. Using this control number voters can monitor their ballot through the post office and election office processing. Many election office processing is video monitored and is available live on the Internet. Copied ballots can not be process due to weight, ink, and control number safe guards.

It's nearly impossible to steal a presidential election with an electoral college.

Well this story does not mean he had no personal gain. It just means he done worst financially in relations to net worth during this short lived presidential gig. Considering Turmp's previous lifestyle, moving into the White House was a step down. He went from being loved by most people to being hated. All the entertainment people turned their back on him. He was a guy that slept with the most beautiful women in the world, a household name, flew around on his private jet, went to the most prestigious parties, rubbed elbows with the most successful people. After he leaves the White House, he will be followed around by the SS the rest of his life. He will not be able to restore his past relationships. Even other business people won't want to do business with him.

Bottom line is Trump took this job because he believed it was a duty to try and straighten this country out. There was nothing in it for him on a personal basis. He's one of the few people I can say took the job because of his love for our country.

In regard to climate change , people will change products when there are more products that significantly reduce CO2 levels that do not require any great sacrifice. It's simply contrary to human nature to make great sacrifices for generations that will not exist for decade after their death. Unlike weather, climate changes very slowly so we will adapt as the climate changes. By the time the bees and butterflies are effectively extinct, we will have adapted food production or millions people will have died off. And as waters slowly rises to claim miles of coast line, we will also adapt. And as temperatures slowly rises in the southwest, Americans will slowly migrate. And as fires consume our forest, people will move and we will find other products to replace wood products. Although people today would see that world as a pretty horrible place, the people living in that time, will not see it that way because they have never known anything different.

If next year, the oceans rose to claim thousands of miles of shoreline, or monster hurricanes devastated the southeast US, or temperatures in the Southwest rose to intolerable levels, we would respond with help and preventive measures because these are sudden catastrophic events. However, for catastrophic events that will not likely occur until long after people die, it's not likely people will concern themselves with prevention that would requires any real sacrifices. It's just not human nature.
